When will the post partum hair loss stop?

My daughter is 8 months old, and I'm still loosing clumps of hair in the shower and while brushing. When I vacuum, the canister is filled with my hair! Moms when did this stop for you? I don't remember it being this bad with my first child. When will the post partum hair loss stop?
My daughter is 7 months old and I just noticed the hair loss 1 month ago. It is still falling out and my hair is pretty thin:(. My fiance is wondering whats going on because the bathtub keeps getting clogged with my hair. lolWhen will the post partum hair loss stop?
it is common to lose hair following the birth of a baby. This usually occurs around three months after delivery. During pregnancy there is a rise in hormones and because of this the hair that normally falls out is kept. Following delivery the hormones gradually return to normal and the extra hair starts to fall out and the cycle returns to normal. This hair loss is temporary and by six or twelve months the hair has usually returned to normal.

The following are some suggestions that may help:

Try to avoid the use of rollers, braids or pigtails that could stress your hair

Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamins and can encourage hair growth

Wash hair gently and avoid using fine combs and use shampoos and conditioners that nourish hair, there are several on the market but you could also ask your hairdresser for advice.

When blow drying your hair try to use the cooler settings

Consider taking Evening Primrose Oil because the essential fatty acids nourish the scalp and may help to slow down the hair loss and it would be a good idea to ask your pharmacist for advice about it

Good luck

My son is 10 months and still having the same problem. Part of my problem may also be that my thyroid is out of whack and they haven't gotten my dosage quite right yet. If it continues, you may want to get your thyroid checked out.

It finally quit with my daughter (3 in January) at about 9 months if I remember properly.
my son is 7 1/2 months and i'm pretty much bald... and still shedding! lol, it doesnt help that the little that i do have, dylan pulls out in handfuls. i'm starting to think that the stress is continuing the hair loss. stress and lack of proper diet and sleep. who knows... i guess when it's gone it's gone, hopefully i't'll start to grow back? lol
wow your baby is 8 months...... yikes my baby is only 4 months and my hair is falling so much that at this rate by the time my daughter is 8 months i will be completely bald. i put our dog outside because he was shedding so much hair... but now i am too and my husband told me maybe i should go outside : )
Mine started about 3 months post partum and went away at 5 months post partum. I'm sure its slightly different for everyone though. Are you taking prenatal vitamins? They don't end it by any means, but it helps a bit.
My son is almost 6 months old, and it seems like my hair has mostly stopped falling out. I still get hair coming out, but I think it's a normal amount now. I hope it stops for you soon!
I have noticed a significant drop (heh) in my hair loss around 6 months post partum.
Still going strong here too - my daughter is also 8 months.
My daughter is 9 months and I'm still losing hair. I'm hoping it will stop soon but who knows.
