I had rhinoplasty about four months ago, and after two months, my hair started shedding. Naturally I freaked out, but my dermatoligist said it was due to the stress from my surgery. While it's not like huge clumps are falling out, I still want to cry when I find strand after strand after combing or washing my hair. How long till this stops? Hi mallie, I understand your concern, but please do not colour your hair as you will only weaken the roots even further. As the dermatologist has said, it is normal to lose some hair. i have a friend who went through the same procedure last month of september and also had the same effects than you (I must say he did not lose huge amounts of hair and It wasn't very obvious) and now he's back to normal :)



Unless you have any other problems with your hair like genetic alopecia, I would leave it alone and just have a bit of patience as it would get back to normal. Don't worry.

The anesthesia can cause a shock to your system which causes the hair to go into the rest phase and some of it falls out about 3 months later.

It can take a few more months (4-5) to grow back and I would suggest you don't color your hair right now.
