My 2-yr old lab was just neutered & ever since surgery he has had bad dandruff & hair loss near his tail...?

He may have picked up some fleas at the vet and is having an allergic reaction. The surgery could have been the extra stress that allowed the allergies to break through. I'd get him to the vet and on some flea control and try to get this back under control. My 2-yr old lab was just neutered %26amp; ever since surgery he has had bad dandruff %26amp; hair loss near his tail...?
He's probably having an allergic reaction to something. Dogs like people can develop allergies in life. The dandruff is the skin trying to get rid of whatever the irritant is and probably has nothing to do with the surgery. The hair loss is probably from the dog chewing on it's rear because the stitches could be causing some irritation. My 2-yr old lab was just neutered %26amp; ever since surgery he has had bad dandruff %26amp; hair loss near his tail...?
neutering the dog most likely did not cause the dandruff and hair loss.... it was most likely cause by a skin allergy or food allergy of some sort the best bet is to take for dog to the vet to get it checked out. they will know what it is and the best way to get rid of it.. ;)
He may have picked up a skin fungus at the vets, but you could never prove it came from there, get a skin test done soon, it could be other things too. Good Luck
