Are excessive body hair and hair loss related? ( for men)?

This is a quote from a site ';Excessive body hair for men indicates a greater chance of premature hair loss; 50% greater risk if a man has complete chest hair; 70% greater risk is a man has chest, shoulder and back hair; and 90% greater risk if a man has total body hair.'; I can't seem to find the reason why I am becoming bald at 20. I dont' think its a genetic or a diet prob. I am not stressed either. However I have quite a lot of hair on my arms, back and around waist area for an asian. Just wondering if that is why I am losing my hair.

the quoted website is : http://www.nioxin.com/go/en/scalp-and-hair-health/health-info/hair-loss-causes/Are excessive body hair and hair loss related? ( for men)?
In my experience, the quote is true. The same thing that makes you grow body hair makes you lose it on your head.

If you are concerned about your hair loss, use a good shampoo. Try Rodaine and see your doctor. There is a drug that can stop the balding.Are excessive body hair and hair loss related? ( for men)?
it could be, because i have lots of hair on my chest, back, shoulders, and arms, but not any on my head. i was 21 when i started to lose my hair on my head, and now iam completely bald, but it doesnt bother me as much now as it did when i first went bald.
I think it's generally true. I, too, lost my hair. I lost nearly all of it at 16. And while I don't have back hair, but I do have a very hairy chest.

Why do so many men suffer from hair loss and women don't?

kus too much masterbation weakens the hair....nah i dont knowWhy do so many men suffer from hair loss and women don't?
most women look after their hair, but men dont bother.Why do so many men suffer from hair loss and women don't?
cos its connected to your nosehair and when you pull ya nose hair (((KALAMO!!))) ......other answers include, .... Your head is growing out of your hair - too many hats worn at once - and stop playing with yourself.
the gene for hair loss is found on the sex linked x chromosome. women have 2 pairs of the x chromosome since to be a woman you must have xx and men have xy. the gene for hair is codominant so both the gene on both chromosomes are expressed. so since women have 2 pairs of this chromosome, if one is the chromosome for hair loss and that one stops making hair, the other one will still be producing hair. so the womans hair just thins out but she doesnt get full on male pattern balding like men do. women CAN bald its just very unlikely since that requires 2 copies of the bad x chromosome so she has to get the balding gene from both her mom and dad. but the man only has one hair producing gene because he only has one x chromosome. so if that one stops then there is no back up and he loses his hair.
in genetics, baldness is the dominant trait in men compared to women where that trait is just recessive to them. try to study the basics of genetics and you will understand it more.
I guess, Very few men use hair care products than women.
mose women do not let it be known they ware hats,

wigs, scarfs

for every 100 men there are atleast 40 women with hair problems
i do believe it may have something to do with their libido; and how active it is.
40 percent of all women and half of all men will experience hair loss in their lifetimes.

and to answer your question... i think the trait only carried on the Y chromosome.

anyway as you know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

not only my and my husband`s own personal experienceWhich is the best shampoo for dry hair and hair loss?????(for men)?
All of the above answers are good ones. Another thing i can offer is stay away from department or superstore shampoos.

They all have a waxy base that can damage your hair, and the sad truth is, is they could all be old because they sit in warehouses for a while and then get shipped out.

I'd stick with a medicated or salon shampoo and conditioner.
Hello ashish ,

Yeah also would vote for Provillus ( http://budurl.com/ProvillusTreatment ) - worked well for me + it's FDA approved.

I have been using it for about 3 months now and I am definetly seeing results.

As far as i remember they do have a money back guarantee.. so in case it doesn't help , you'll get your money back.
The Best shampoo I have come across is Provillus. It worked very well for me. It's got all the nutrients and oils that helps in hair regrowth and hair loss.

Get it here www.ReGrowYourHair.tk
it's best to shampoo less. The soap is pretty hard on the hair and scalp. That will have the greatest impact rather than the type of shampoo.

  • Is it true that cats can cause hair loss and balding in men?

    I'm in my mid 50's,adopted by six cats and have a full head of hair.

    This is a dumb rumor.Is it true that cats can cause hair loss and balding in men?
    This is absolutely untrue, unless your cat is the type of cat that likes to ';shampoo'; his or her person.

    Cats however can develop hair loss for a wide variety of reasons, and can develop bald patches, but your locks are safe from anything related to kitties.

    This said, there may be some kind of very rare allergic condition for which I could not find any information while researching, so you might want to check with an allergist if this is your problem.

    Owned by cats for over 40 yearsIs it true that cats can cause hair loss and balding in men?
    The medical term for hair loss is 鈥榓lopecia Thinning of the hair is a normal part of the ageing process in both men and women, but alopecia in younger people can have many different causes.

    Baldness in Patches

    In the condition known as 鈥榮econdary scarring alopecia bald patches occur following direct damage to the hair follicles on the scalp. This may be due to an injury, a burn, a skin tumour, or exposure to radiation or caustic chemicals.

    Alopecia areata is patchy hair loss that is thought to occur when the follicles are attacked by the body鈥檚 own immune system. There may be a genetic element, too, as the problem sometimes runs in families. It is common in both men and women, and can occur at any age. As well as hair loss, some people see changes in their fingernails, which can become roughened and pitted. Alopecia areata sometimes spreads until the whole scalp is affected (alopecia totalis) or even the entire body (alopecia universalis).

    Trichotillomania is a disorder in which a person pulls out his or her own hair, leading to bald patches. This can be a psychological problem or simply a nervous habit.

    No. Cats have nothing to do with hair loss. I know plenty of men with both full heads of hair and cats. I also know a bald one without.

    Here is a good not-too-long article that explains male pattern baldness:

    http://www.bernsteinmedical.com/hair-los

    Basically, it is caused by an inheritited sensitivity of the scalp hair follicles to DHT (dihydrotestosterone). DHT is formed by the action of the enzyme 5-alpha reductase on testosterone.

    Some dietary supplements that might help with hair loss are the herbs saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) and He Sho Wu also called Fo-ti (Polygonum multiflorum). They have some ability to block 5-alpha reductase.
    No, it's not true. Men who love cats are kind, caring and compassionate, and in John's case, they also have a full head of hair.

    Makes me want to fly to Atlanta:)
    100% NOT true!!!! If you are losing your hair, chances are it's genetic
    Did your Dog tell you that one by any chance?
    Did a bald guy tell you that? It's a cock and bull story ..

    Hi there

    Treating and stopping hair loss will be a tough task to try to do if you're clueless about how you'll be able to effectively do so. If you are serious about stopping alopecia and baldness so you can have more hair on your head, there are some tips that you must.

    Here are some tips that were helpful for me to stop my hair loss:

    1. Biotin Supplement

    By taking a recommended biotin supplement, many people I know, including me, have been able to increase the strength and growth of the hair. Biotin plays a significant role in your body's natural hair producing process. Because of this, be sure you eat a lot of foods that contain that vital vitamin. Foods like eggs, cereals and brown rice all contain biotin. I also recommend using a recommended biotin supplement.

    2. Stress and Alopecia

    Stress is notoriously known for inflicting more than dozens of health disorders and diseases including alopecia and baldness. The consequences that stress causes on your hair volume is terribly significant. While inflicting this disorder, excessive stress additionally appears to worsen it. Because of this, if you're serious about stopping alopecia, be sure you retain your stress level frequently in check.

    Make sure you get sufficient rest and sleep every day. Do not work long hours without plenty of rest. Unleash the stress out before it builds up.

    3. Herbs and Natural Solutions for Baldness

    Herbs and natural remedies are some of the most effective alternative treatments for hair loss. Using herbs and natural remedies like green tea and stinging nettle will help you win the fight against baldness and hair loss. Here is a list of herbs and natural remedies that I have found to be very helpful:

    * essential fatty acids like omega 3

    * Malt made hair mask

    * green tea

    * pygeum

    * nettle roots

    * horsetail extracts

    * saw palmetto

    4. Scalp Massage

    Massage your scalp several times a day. By massaging your scalp frequently each day, you may be able to increase the blood circulation in the scalp area. This increased blood flow will aid a lot in transferring the vital growth stimulating nutrients like biotin and amino acids to your hair follicles. This will directly help increase your hair's strength, growth and volume all at the identical time.

    5. Get Proven FDA Approved Treatment

    Getting a good hair loss treatment is the most important thing but also the most difficult. There are too many products and companies within the market these days and it is not easy to decide on the proper product for your needs.

    Anyhow, There are some reliable companies with good reputation that provide free trials of their products. Before wasting hundreds of bucks on useless product I will highly suggest to take a look at these offers. A number of the most popular names are: Hairsol, Reatne, Smart organic, Provillus and more.

    In the last few days there are some great deals on the Provillus products, you can learn more about them here:

    http://www.freetrialsoffer.info/provillu

    I hope that you will find these tips helpful for you
    The causes of hairloss can be summarized as follows:

    General: Hair is constantly going through cycles of growth, resting, shedding. When hairs that are lost are not replaced, or when more hair follicles go into the resting phase, hair loss becomes noticeable. While there is ongoing debate regarding hair loss reasons, the list below shows many of the common contibuting factors:

    Ageing The period for hair loss is between the 20 and 50 years of age. Some individuals arrive at the advance stages of hair loss sooner than others although it becomes increasingly evident as people advance in age.

    Cosmetic Chemicals Particularly bleaching, permanents, coloring.

    Drugs/Medications/Radiation Included are anticoagulants, antidepressants, contraceptive pills, amphetamines, some arthritis medications, some antibiotics, some blood thinners, medicines for gout, drugs derived from vitamin-A, certain drugs for ulcers, beta blocker drugs for high blood pressure. Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy halt the growth phase of hair follicles which results in a sudden hair loss as those follicles all shed their hair at about the same time.

    Solution: You can use hair loss treatment. For more information on hairloss treatment visit:

    http://www.regainlosthair.com/2680.php
    The answer to that can get a little complicated but I will try to keep it simple.

    Male Pattern Baldness is a genetic trait. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot it's likely you will too.

    DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss. Without getting too technical what happens is the DHT binds to your hair follicle receptors causing them to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows.

    The one ingredient clinically proven, and FDA approved for re-growing your hair is Minoxidil. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles and inhibits DHT.
    Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairfall.blogspot.com/ for more info.
    Many of the times when men lose hair is because of stress...the man needs to think away from the problems that he is having if he wants to keep his hair...another reason could be that he may be using to powerful of a chemical in his shampoo or other hair product...
    I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

    Depends on where it is thinning. if its the common side of temple reseading not much you can do. If its the vertex or crown of head, you can try ';Propecia'; or Minoxidil. You have a 50% chance of either regrowing or stopping any further loss. I don't know of any sure methods. My brother is almost completely bald, but I have no hair loss, so it's not completely hereditary like people say.
    Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss,make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

    If it's Male or Female Pattern Baldness, then it's genetics. There's no way you can prevent it. But there are plenty of ways to slow it down, such as Rogaine, Propecia, Nioxin, etc. See this Dateline NBC video for some ideas. It reviewed 5 products on 5 different men over a year. The results are encouraging.

    Wearing tight fitting hats are a known cause of baldness. And also balding, baldness is hereditary. Good Luck

    What is the cause of Hair thinning & subsequent hair-loss in men ??? How can it be prevented ?

    There are many causes of hair loss. Both men and women can obtain it. It can be because of nutritional deficiency, hormone imbalance, stress, and diseases.

    But generally the most common cause of it is called androgenic alopecia. It is the medical term for hair loss or baldness. Androgenic refers to the influence of androgen's (male hormones), and genetic predisposition to balding can be the reason of such a hair loss.

    Genetic is not that simple, and should be assessed on a case by case basis. Just the presence of someone in your family balding is not enough to predict that you will also become bald. It is impossible to predict who will go bald and how fast it will happen.

    Men and women produce androgenic hormones. Dihydrotestosterone, understanding, testosterone (DHT) are the most common. These hormones are important for both sexes. But have different concentrations, and are more predominant in males than females. Exposure of hair follicles to DHT, in a susceptible person, over a period of time could lead to baldness.

    Illnesses and medical conditions are also causes of hair loss. Such as thyroid disease and diabetes. Those people with liver and kidney diseases and lupus can also experience hair loss.

    Alopecia areata is a skin disease than causes hair loss on the scalp and sometimes on the body. It is an autoimmune disease. Our own immune system is the one to damage the hair follicles. Alopecia areata starts as small bald patches and can progress to total baldness.

    Nutrition is also one factor of baldness because of lack of protein, vitamins and minerals that sustains the hair.

    Finally there are other causes of disruption to hair cycle growth like getting anesthesia, or having surgery.

    Hope this helps.What is the cause of Hair thinning %26amp; subsequent hair-loss in men ??? How can it be prevented ?
    There are many causes of hair loss and thinning: stress, poor diet, dehydration...The main reason people lose their hair or experience hair thinning is because of a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) build up on the scalp. A product called Provillus is the leading remedy for it. It addresses this problem with an all natural supplement and a topical lotion with Minoxidil which is the only FDA approved hair loss treatment.

    The supplement contains Saw Palmetto which is widely known as the best DHT blocker available. The supplement also contains a slew of other nutrients that also promote hair growth. Provillus has the best blend of nutrients and is the most potent formula on the market because like its the only one which uses a two pronged approach of lowering the DHT level and using Minoxidil to promote growth.

    Estrogen will cause a man to develop boobs. It's not the opposite of testosterone though it's actually very close in it's chemical structure but that little difference can make a huge difference in the way it affects a person. Generic Propecia (finasteride) is also ok. I use it with same results, and unfortunately same sides(a bit dry feeling in the scalp) as brand propecia. read this:

    FALLING HAIR -

    Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

    Tension

    Too much work

    Illness

    Poor diet

    Over-exposure to the sun

    Perming

    Amateur bleaching

    Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

    Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

    Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

    Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

    A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

    Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

    Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

    Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

    ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

    A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

    VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

    VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

    COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

    Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

    Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

    Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 隆V if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

    Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

    Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

    Quick Hair Care Conditioner

    Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

    Honey Conditioner

    Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

    Alcohol Conditioner

    Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

    Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours

    ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

    Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

    Wide-toothed comb

    Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

    The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

    While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

    Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

    Leave-in conditioner

    Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

    Oil

    Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

    Egg

    Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.
    Minoxidil 5% (the generic name for Rogaine) twice a day has been shown to work in about 50% of men. However, it causes a greasy look on your scalp which lasts for 4 hours and then leaves a white residue after it dries. Also it can cause itchiness.

    Finasteride 1mg (the generic name for Propecia) once a day has been shown to work in about 60-70% of men. However, it is an antiandrogen (blocks a form of testosterone that affects hair follicles in men) - so it has a 1-2% incidence of sexual impotence over placebo. But the psychological effect of taking a pill that you know has a finite risk of impotence may make you impotent whether it's the drug doing it or your own mind.

    LaserMax Hair Comb used 2-3 times per week has been approved by the FDA. It costs 500$ and you have to use it for 15-20 minutes. The company claims a 60% success rate or better. There are cheaper imitations, but not FDA-approved.

    Hair Transplantation surgery can be done to compensate for your gradual hair loss but will require several trips to the surgeon and will leave long horizontal scars on the back of your scalp which will be unsightly should you decide to shave your head in the future. Also, there is no guarantee your surgeon will do a good job.

    Toupee's can occasionally look decent, but only with VERY high maintenance, and once one person knows you're wearing a toupee, EVERYONE will find out. You will become a topic of interesting gossip.

    There are other ';remedies'; for hair loss - but if it's not approved by the FDA as the above remedies are, then you should be alert for the snake-oil scam-factor.
    It's genetic babe, give it up. You're gonna waste alot of money otherwise (that you could be spending on caps).
    Hair loss should be natrual at that age... Try asking a docter about it
    massage scalp several times a day[gently] bottom line- you may slow it-but your genes determine future
    Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    There are none, but be thankful there are hair procedures like hair restoration that can take what hair you have left (from the sides of the head) and transplant it to the front and top. It won't be as much, but it will be yours.

    Will tying a du-rag on a short hair be a reason for a hair loss on men? or is there any means to prevent loss?

    if you are putting it on wet hair, or if you are sweating, this can create bacteria that kills the hair and makes it fall out, so yes, this goes for hats too.

  • Shampoo 2 prevent men head hair loss!?

    Hi all,

    what brand of Shampoo (preferably natural one!) is good to prevent my head hair losing!

    I'm already using Monoxide every night but need other alternatives since this is not catching up with my hairs falling off!

    thanks heaps!Shampoo 2 prevent men head hair loss!?
    anyway as you know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

    year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also used herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for him!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

    Prevent hair loss for men?

    hi

    am 26,male like to grow long hairs. i do know that, when u decide to grow long hairs, u shud be able to maintain it correctly

    i have the following questions

    does using shampoo regularly causes hair loss?

    does usuing gels often causes hair loss?

    how frequent we can use shampoo and gels for our hair to prevent hair lossPrevent hair loss for men?
    hey hiiee.....There can be many reasons for hair fall....some of them can be due to Faulty hair...mental worries and lack of vitamins....sometimes it can be hereditary.....or due to unclean condition of scalp...if u go on changing your shampoos and conditioner then too you can have hair fall.....

    As you have asked about various shampoos and gels let me tell you if you go on using shampoos everyday it will surely lead to hair loss because Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a strong detergent that's used in almost all shampoo's. A lot of science has proven that this substance can damage eyesight, put harmful chemicals into our blood (goes through our skin), and worse yet...make us bald

    Not knowing the exact cause of hair fall i would suggest instead of directly using some chemical based product and then making the situation worst it would be better if you could try some of the natural remedies which would not harm your hair in any case.

    Some of the remedies that i can suggest are as follows:

    -Mix 2tbsp. amla (Indian goose berry), reetha and shikakai. Add egg and make it a paste. Apply this on scalp and massage well. After 25 min. rinse it off using a mild shampoo. Do this for three times a week. Use it for one month minimum.

    -Massage the scalp and hair with coconut milk. Leave it for hour, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week till hair loss decreases.

    - Boiling a few hibiscus flowers in coconut based oil, Filtering it and using it regularly can help control hair loss and thinning ...

    -In addition, you need to keep off from strong teas or coffee, pickles, as well as refined and processed foods.

    If still you feel that these tips are not helping you much, you may visit the link www.parachutetherapie.com wherein they have this natural therapie which grows your hair within 45 days and it is economical tooPrevent hair loss for men?
    hair loss is caused by your genes.

    Is there any kind of diet plan that really helps prevent hair loss for men?

    No. If you want to keep your hair take Propecia pills or rub minoxidil onto your scalp. You have to do it everyday until they find a cute. .Is there any kind of diet plan that really helps prevent hair loss for men?
    hair loss is genetic, and no diet or drug will help. Sorry!! Take a look at your dad and that is what you will probably look like.Is there any kind of diet plan that really helps prevent hair loss for men?
    There is an herbal product FOTI you can get in some herbal / health stores or in China town. The same herb is also sold in tablets that combine other nutrients like b-vitamins and zinc etc...

    It reduces or inhibits the hair loss by blocking the excess of one of the kinds of testosterone that causes your hair to jump out, usually during times of high stress and during young adulthood, between 21 and 26 years of age. During that time, it could be the difference between thining out a bit and losing a lot of hair. Genetics predisposes some men to have hair loss, but you can reduce the effects of the mechanism, that specific kind of testosterone during that time in life. FOTI or Shen Min do not affect your masculinity, don't worry, but they will make your scalp feel less tight, less itchy, more at-ease, and let your hairs stay on stronger.

    Its like if you're genetically pre-disposed to get diabetes, you don't have to surrender and die, you can take remedies so you might skip the development of it, or to live long without getting affected by it full-force. Genetics is something to cope with, not to surrender to hopeless full level of suffering.
    Hair loss in men is primarily due to heredity. There's no diet that will change that. Other causes of thinning and loss are frequent and long-term use of chemicals (haircolor, straighteners, etc.)

    FYI: There IS no herbal product that will alter the effects of heredity. Don't waste your money on tripe like this.
    Hairloss is hereditary. If you mother's FATHER has hairloss, than so shall you.

    As far as alternatives to prevent it, No. There is no DIET to prevent it.

    Hello

    Treating and stopping hair loss will be a difficult task to do if you are clueless on how you can effectively do so. If you are serious concerning stopping alopecia and baldness so you can have more hair on your head, there are some tips that you need to know.

    Here are some tips that were helpful for me to stop the hair loss:

    1. Biotin Supplement

    By taking a recommended biotin supplement, many people I know, including me, have been able to increase the strength and growth of the hair. Biotin plays a significant role in your body's natural hair producing process. For that reason, make sure you eat additional foods that contain that important vitamin. Foods like eggs, cereals and brown rice all contain biotin. I also advocate taking a recommended biotin supplement.

    2. Stress and Alopecia

    Stress is notoriously known for inflicting more than dozens of health disorders and diseases together with alopecia and baldness. The effects that stress causes on your hair volume is terribly significant. While causing this disorder, excessive stress also seems to worsen it. For that reason, if you're serious about stopping alopecia, be sure you keep your stress level frequently in check.

    Be sure you get sufficient rest and sleep each day. Don't work long hours without plenty of rest. Unharness the tension out before it builds up.

    3. Herbs and Natural Solutions for Baldness

    Herbs and natural remedies are some of the simplest various treatments for hair loss. Using herbs and natural remedies like green tea and stinging nettle can help you win the fight against baldness and hair loss. Here is a list of herbs and natural remedies that I have found to be very effective:

    * essential fatty acids like omega three

    * Malt made hair mask

    * green tea

    * pygeum

    * nettle roots

    * horsetail extracts

    * saw palmetto

    4. Scalp Massage

    Massage your scalp several times a day. By massaging your scalp frequently each day, you will be ready to increase the blood circulation within the scalp area. This increased blood flow can aid a lot in transferring the vital growth stimulating nutrients like biotin and amino acids to your hair follicles. This can directly facilitate increase your hair's strength, growth and volume all at the identical time.

    5. Get Proven FDA Approved Treatment

    Getting a good hair loss treatment is maybe the most important factor but additionally the most difficult. There are too many products and corporations within the market these days and it is not easy to choose the proper product for your needs.

    Anyhow, There are some reliable corporations with good reputation that provide free trials of their products. Before wasting hundreds of bucks on useless products I will highly recommend to check these offers. A number of the big names are: Hairsol, Reatne, Smart organic, Provillus and more.

    I personally use the hairsol treatment for about 3 months and until now I'm very satisfied with the results. You can learn more about Hairsol's best free trial offer here:

    I used to face with hair loss too. In that time, I've tried everything that people said it's good for hair loss but nothing worked.

    Until I searched on ebay and I'd tried a herbal shampoo from Asia and this shampoo did help me reduce my hair loss gradually. I used to shred like 100 hairs a day but now everything is under controlled. But I still use this shampoo now and then. Here is that ebay's seller http://shop.ebay.com/iamkitlam/m.html I never use the hair tonic bc I don't think it helps.

    I know this very nice shampoo and conditioner it makes ur hair thicker and healthy it's called mane 'n tail it's in rite-aid and walgeeens. it wiill work cuz it worked for my brotherWhat is a good shampoo to prevent hair loss on men ?
    Hi!

    Losing hair can be hard on your self-esteem, and if you're uncle is committed to do something about it, there is a lot of options. He should be looking into different types of shampoo. Most importantly the shampoo should have an inhibitory effect on DHT and contain Vitamin A. There are quite a lot of products on the market that really work.

    Even though it might be rather expensive, your uncle should consider a product called Provillus. The product comes with a money-back guarantee, so if you're not satisfied, you simply return the product and get your money back.

    Take a look at Provillus at www.the-hair-expert.com, and please let me know how it worked out for your uncle.

    Best regards from

    He could try L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro for Men.

    Good ways to prevent men hair loss?

    what is a good way to prevent men hair loss? im 18 and i don't want to end up bold. now i have less hair then when i was 15, well that's in my forehead, but my dad is going bold, and i don't want that. so what would you recommend,

    like shampoos or something like thatGood ways to prevent men hair loss?
    Rogain Foam.Good ways to prevent men hair loss?
    If you start using Rogain it might make your hair grow back TEMPORARILY. When you discontinue using it, more hair will fall out than before so, if I were you, I wouldn't take that route. Once you start using Rogain, you can't stop without adverse effects.

    The best thing you can do is eat a healthy diet, don't drink alcohol, smoke, or take drugs, and be at peace with your appearance. Use a good GENTLE shampoo and don't wash your hair in water that is too warm. It will dry out both your hair and scalp and can cause thinning.

    Remember your father is older than you and may be losing some of his hair but it doesn't mean that you will do the same. One thing that will help you is don't put any type of stress on your hair like pulling your hair tight with ponytails, braids, or rubber bands. All can cause damage and make the stressed hair fall out.
    Lu's don't wear hats number one as your head can't breathe properly. Hair loss is determined by genes. Use a good PH'd shampoo. It will will say if it is when you read the side of the bottle. Use a good conditioner. The less length of the hair the less weight on the hair shaft to cause it to fall out. There are no guarantees with life. Done hair for a living so hope this helps you out. Also use a nickle size amount of shampoo and rub it between your hands before you apply it in the shower. Other wise you daub it in one area. It will cause the shampoo to do a better job. Rinse well before you get done, and use it also on body hair as bar soaps are very harsh on body and pubic hair. The better you treat your hair the longer you will have it. Good Luck and i hope this is helpful!
    I would say not to use chemicals on your hair.Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm
    Your hair is what you eat. If you eat correctly and drink enough water, 80 percent of your hair problems are solved. Eat a healthy and a balanced diet rich in protein and minerals. Oil your hair regularly, include a lot of milk, almonds and greens in your diet and drink at least 12 to 14 glasses of water daily. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    Symptoms for 7 months, no diagnosis. Excessive hair loss, muscle pain, swollen nodes.?

    Hello!

    I`m a 19 year old female who`s been experiencing a series of symptoms for the past 7 months that doctors have been unable to diagnose.

    Firstly, my hair has been falling out and as you can imagine, this has been very emotionally stressful. Since about 7 months ago, I`ve lost more then 75% of hair from all over my head. The hair loss is not patchy, but has been thinning all over. I used to have long, extremely thick and beautiful hair, and now its almost gone. The hair loss is not localized to my head as I've even noticed that the hair on my legs and in my pubic area have barely been growing back after shaving. I did see a dermatologist and he said that I must have an underlying autoiumme disease that's causing the hair loss. He suspects lupus or a related disease, but as of yet, blood tests have shown no irregularities.

    Since around the same time my hair has been falling out, Ive noticed that the lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen. Sometimes they are red and sensitive (especially after drinking alcohol or smoking) but usually they're painless. I've also been experiencing a lot of joint/muscle pain and stiffness. Some days it gets really bad and I can barely move, even typing/writing is difficult because the muscles in my hands are so stiff. I feel like every muscle and joint in my body is inflamed. I'm only 19 and I'm having as hard of a time moving around as my 55 year old mother with MS.

    Lastly, (and I'm not sure if this is related at all) my skin has been really dry and especially itchy. I'm not sure if I've noticed any rashes, but I have noticed some redness (light red spots) randomly on my skin.

    My family doctor did a thorough blood analysis and everything came back normal. There is no sign of vitamin deficiency, my thyriod was normal, no diabetes, my blood cell count was normal, kidney/liver function was normal, and I'm clean for STD's/STI's. I really don't know where to go from here and im terrified that if I don't find out whats wrong, I'm going to go bald.

    Does anyone know what these symptoms indicate? Any advice as to what I should get tested for/where I should go from here would be great.

    I've had some weird symptoms for some time: pubic hair loss, vaginal wall swelling, clitoral leak. What is it?

    In addition, my labia (vaginal lips) are always sore. It's painful to use tampons. I have been to a doctor and it seems like they ignore me whenever I tell them that my vagina is swelling, or that I have extreme hair loss. I don't use chemicals nor do I wax. Until a year ago, I always had a considerable amount of public hair. Now, I will wipe after using the restroom and there are strands left on the tissue. I don't want to even think about being intimate with my fiance because it's soooo painful. Any sound advice you can offer would be helpful, as this is so embarassing to talk about to anyone.I've had some weird symptoms for some time: pubic hair loss, vaginal wall swelling, clitoral leak. • What do these symptoms mean? The hair loss?

    Over the past, I don't know, 3 months, I have noticed that I lose a lot of hair in the shower. All I do is run a hand through my wet hair and out comes a handful of hair. I probably lose about 30 or so hair strands in the shower alone. Lately, my hair comes out even if it is dry. Just today, I ran my hand through my dry hair and out came 20 or so strands. Lots more come out when I even try to brush my hair. It is really starting to scare me. The most frightening part is that I even lose hair in my sleep. I wake up and look and my pillow and there are 20 or so pieces of hair. Like I said, this had never happened before prior to the last 3 or so months. I also have other symptoms that I will list below to see if any of yall can connect these symptoms together.

    - Tiredness (I sleep for a good 13 or so hours now where as before, I only slept maybe 7 or 8 hours)

    - Headaches

    - Dizziness

    - Blurry Vision

    - Teeth Ache

    - Moodiness (Yes I'm a girl, but I have never lashed out at my family like I am now)

    - Cramps (Before, I rarely experienced cramps and now I have them all the time)

    - Feeling of Weakness (All the time)

    - Stomach Aches

    - Mouth always seems to seem dry

    - Excessive Sweating

    Thank You so much to anyone who answers.

    Ps. I am only 14 years old so this seems very odd to me.What do these symptoms mean? The hair loss?
    You need to get yourself to the doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. I immediately thought ';thyroid'; but there need to be tests done to see if that is the case.

    I had some of your symptoms and ended up having celiac disease (unexplained hair loss, moodiness, cramping, migraines, tiredness, brainfog, restless leg). Hope this helps, get yourself to the doctor, they need to run a few tests!What do these symptoms mean? The hair loss?

    Hair Loss and Other Symptoms Help?

    I'm 17 years old and have had hair loss for over 2 years now. I first noticed it on my scalp but it seems to have spread to my eyelashes, pubic hair, and eyebrows. The hairs from my scalp have little white bulbs at the ends when they fall out and my scalp has an odd smell even after washing. Irregular periods(since they started), lightheaded often, tired a lot, and being dizzy at times are my other symptoms. I've been to my general doctor, a dermatologist, endocrinologist, and a gynecologist and none of them have been able to help me. I've had normal results on blood tests for hormone levels, thyroid, and others I don't remember. I've also tried to take metformin pills and birth control pills that didn't help all my symptoms. I don't really know what to do next and my hair loss is getting worse. Any suggestions or advice would be great. ThanksHair Loss and Other Symptoms Help?

    Recovering anorexic: how long until the symptoms stop? (ie: hair loss, lanugo)?

    I'm trying to get better (and I definitely am well on my way), but I am sick of not being able to come my hair for fear it will all come out at once.

    As for the lanugo (light, extra hair), will it eventually fall off?

    Please, if you're going to make snide remarks don't bother posting.

    Thanks!Recovering anorexic: how long until the symptoms stop? (ie: hair loss, lanugo)?
    Good for you! The lanugo will come off gradually as you gain weight and stabilize, and the hair loss will become minimal over time as well. There is no way to tell how long it will take, but keep in mind that your body responds fairly quickly to even small improvements in diet (in your case, taking in more calories), and will become healthier in pace with the improvements. Expect changes to come weekly. You're well on your way to a healthier body and a happier state of mind!Recovering anorexic: how long until the symptoms stop? (ie: hair loss, lanugo)?
    I don't know the answer to your question, but I have to praise you for taking steps to recover. It is a huge deal and very very difficult. So I must give you much praise for taking care of this problem and yourself. Keep going with it. I wish you the best of luck!

    What could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?

    22 years old female. 3 children last child delivered on 3/13/2009. Had Mirena put in on 6/30/09. Overall healthy.

    Complaints: After having my daughter I started feeling very tired and associated that with just motherly fatigue. But now, nearly 5 months later, I feel exhausted at all times. I could sleep for 10 hours and still have trouble waking up and I'll fall asleep sometime later or have difficulty staying awake. I also have significant hair loss starting 3-4 weeks ago. It has been so significant that now my hair is visibly thinner and keeps thinning-I find hairs all over and in the shower it just falls out in chunks. I also have some general malaise and it seems that my bones hurt (strange I know). I'm freaking out. I don't have any other problems that I've noticed.

    Please if you have any suggestions let me know.What could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?
    anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

    year ago ( after my second child ) I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

    the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss!

    Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for me!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

    http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph…

    and here

    http://www.provillus.com/?aid=221781

    It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

    not only my own personal experience + working as a family physician

    http://www.trichozed.infoWhat could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?
    I would go to your doctor and have your thyroid checked out--sometimes hair loss is a sign of thyroid disfunction. It could also be some other type of hormone imbalance so definitely get it checked out. Hope you start feeling better!
    Well I had the same thing, except I'm a little younger than you are, without children.

    I would come home from school and just go right to sleep. I fell asleep in classes, on the bus, everywhere possible.

    I was also loosing tons of hair in the shower, and it was getting thinner by the day.

    I went to the doctor, and I described everything to her, and she told me I wasn't getting enough vitamins, and it was causing my body to want to just rest.

    My guess is it would be something relating to this, but your best bet is to visit your doctor. The people on Yahoo Answers can't diagnose you correctly, so I'd really suggest going in.

    But I really hope you get better!

    and I hope I helped!

    good luck!
    it's possible it could be malnutrition. not that you're not eating right, but maybe your body isn't absorbing certain vitamins. try taking a daily multi-vitamin. if nothing gets better, see a doctor.

    good luck!

    EDIT:

    it ALSO could be that your bones arent absorbing Calcium! on second thought, i STRONGLY suggest you go see your doctor. a woman i know lost her entire mouth of teeth because during her pregnancy her body stopped absorbing calcium %26amp; now she has dentures! at age 22! (i'm not trying to scare you, i'm sorry, it's just possible that this COULD be very serious!)
    Hereditary hair loss or Androgenetic Alopecia

    Hair loss (androgenetic alopecia or hereditary hair loss) is caused primarily due to the impact that androgens have on the hair follicles. There is a genetic predisposition for this particular category of hair loss to take place which could also be expressed at a very young age. Not only it is the main cause of androgenetic alopecia as it accounts 50-70% of all cases, but it also responsible for 40-50% of all female hair loss. The main factor that affects hair loss is the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The hair follicles at the top of the head are particularly sensitive to the effect of this hormone. DHT shortens the hair growth cycle reducing the follicle size thus leading to shedding of hair.

    In males, hair loss happens in following time frames that are interrupted by remission phases. The hair becomes more and more thin and short and is finally changed into indiscernible fuzz with distinct signs of balding especially at the top of the head. The sooner the hair loss begins, the faster the process becomes. In females, hair loss occurs in seasonal spurts and follows a slow process. The hair becomes thin and dull and fall out in a diffuse manner all over the top of the head at first broadening the parting. In succession a true alopecia is observed and it ceases just about 1 cm away from the hairline.

    Other types of Hair loss

    Non-hereditary hair loss occurs mostly in women and is predominately caused by hormonal disorders (pregnancy, menopause) by uncommonly stressful situations and overtiredness by “crazy” unhealthy diet or malnutrition (low vitamin, protein and trace mineral intake) by mechanical damage (repeated shampooing with “tough” shampoos, blow drying, excessive combing, hair bands) or chemical damage (hair coloring hair perms). Other factors that intensify the condition are the excessive sebum secretion, the intense dehydration of the scalp, UV radiation, pollution and environmental conditions (drought, wind). Finally there are cases of hair loss that are directly related to numerous conditions and the use of specific drugs. These cases are referred to as pathogenic hair loss and need the medical assist of a dermatologist.

    Nutrition: Proper hair nourishment and invigoration

    Your daily diet affects the healthy form and the quality of your hair. The every day intake of nutrients that are implicated in the appropriate growth of the hair is requirement that must be met through our regular diet.

    One of the key factors of hair loss is a diet rich in fat. The combination of a diet low in fat and the intake of food rich in protein (lecithin, wheat germ oil, brewer’s yeast), amino acids that are involved in the formation of hair’s keratin, minerals and trace elements that are involved in the development of hair (silica, zinc).

    Hair loss natural treatment.

    Generally, anxiety, stress and extreme exhaustion are all factors that affect good health of the hair and their growth. Keep in mind that a healthy life style, resting, a good night’s sleep, stress management and regular eating habits can indisputably contribute to healthy hair growth.

    Aromatherapy is one of the natural therapies that can also be beneficial to hair wellness. Shampoos and solution with the appropriate essential oils are used to combat safely baldness and promote hair regrowing. They have antibacterial, tonic and antiseptic attributes and aid good condition of scalp. Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender, Jojoba and Cedarwood oil are considered by dermatologists as the most effective essential oils that can naturally treat hair loss and improve hair health.
    number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

    Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

    Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

    Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

    Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

    I would visit the doctor. He will be able to help you with what is going on and how to fix it. I would try taking a multi vitamin. That can help with the exhaustion.

    Hope this helps :)

    What kind of hair loss is associated with a thyroid problem? Are there other symptoms?

    Hair loss associated with thyroid problems most commonly are:

    eyebrows - the outer corner of eyebrows tends to fall away leaving appearance of half an eye brow.

    Hair breakage - hair falling out in clumps or breaking easily when brushed.

    Taking good supplements as well as the thyroid meds can get your hair back strong again though.

    What are the symptoms of a thyroid problem. Is it just hair loss only or other signs?

    I am one of these sufferers of a thyroid disorder, called; Hypothyroidism. The doctor took four years to correctly diagnose me!

    Here are the symptoms for an over-active thyroid;

    1: Putting on weight without eating any more, whilst having a healthy diet.

    2: Feeling lethargic, no matter how much sleep you have had.

    3: Mood swings.

    4: Feeling cold.

    5: Hair loss!

    Untreated, a multi-nodular goitre can form in the thyroid, but the eyes do not become prominent as with the over-active thyroid condition.

    The patient will feel more lethargic as the time goes by, and might be unable to have the strength to get out of bed.

    --------------------------------------br>

    If it is Hyperthyroidism, over-active thyroid;

    1: Feeling hot even when the weather is cold.

    2; Rushing about, not able to relax, tense.

    3: Palpitations.

    4: Feeling irritable all the time.

    5: Unable to sleep.

    If this condition is left untreated, the thyroid could swell, and so can the eyeballs, which is called; Goitre

    A blood test can easily ascertain, which thyroid condition the patient has. Treatment is difficult to get the correct level of thyroid hormone needed in to regulate the body, but if you have a good specialist, called an; Endocrinologist it may take only 6 months to a year, depending on the severity of the case.

    But, you will have to go back for regular three monthly blood tests to keep an eye on it. I found that if I had a weight gain, or managed to lose some weight, it affected the dosage I was on. So keep an eye on that too.

    *** The Best Hair Loss Solution ( Personal Review )

    Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine庐 ) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

    I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. But remember this isn't a miracle cure for baldness as you will also need to put in some effort in order to see results. And its only a minimum commitment of 15 minutes a day to help re-grow your lost hair.

    Anyway, its also a cheaper and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.What are the symptoms of a thyroid problem. Is it just hair loss only or other signs?
    There many many symptoms of a thyroid problem - it depends on the problem. Doctors divide thyroid disease into hyperthyroidism (meaning hyper active) and hypothyroidism (meaning low activity) and each category has many many signs and symptoms.

    Scary symptoms! Hair loss, Not a normal diet, etc. IMPORTANT?

    Ok so im turning 20 this year. Nov. 09 i started having these horrible head aches. Sharp pin type of head aches. My whole head went numb sometimes. Other times only half of my head would hurt and then the next day it would shift to the other side. I would get hot fast and i would go back to normal. later on in the day i would be freezing. This lasted for 2 1/2 weeks straight. after that the head aches would show up once in a while.

    Im always having body temperature changes. Hot, cold and so forth. My mood does change but its usually happy or very like aggravated. To the point i dont want to talk to anyone and just relax and be alone.

    For the past like 4 months my hair has been falling and thinning out alot. I go through my head and i see small spots of bare skin.

    I really dont know whats going on but people have said its stress. I sometimes jump into a conclusion that theres something wrong inside my head and no i dont mean crazy. I went to the doctor in late Dec. and they said everything looked ok.

    Im also gaining weight and maybe not alot but its noticeable. Ive been eating alot lately and then theres days i only eat once. My appetite just goes haywire.

    Im so scared and nervous. What can it be??Scary symptoms! Hair loss, Not a normal diet, etc. IMPORTANT?

    Please see your doctor! Most PCOS patients have problems with hair growth, not loss, and doctors give them Spironolactone for facial/body hair. Find out from your doctor what is happening with your hormones that is causing you to lose hair. Are you taking anything for your PCOS, like Metformin or birth control pills? Or if you are taking something for depression, that might be the cause too.

    Mild thalassemia usually does not cause any symptoms. However, symptoms of anemia may develop in more severe forms of the condition and may include:

    Weakness.

    Fatigue.

    Lightheadedness.

    I'm 62,I have no idea of what all the medical terms in your Question mean.All I know for sure is,At times my can do can't keep up with my want to.lol As long as I make sure I walk 10 to 15 miles per week,work in the yard some and eat right I continue to feel fine.To me I would only start worrying if I were to lose my appetite.

    About the hair loss,My grandfather told me along time ago,You will know you are getting old,when hair doesn't grow where it is supposed to and grows like crazy everywhere it is not supposed to.Hope this helps.Keep your chin up and face into the wind.
    I don't know that Pharmaceuticals would be the best answer in this case. I'm into alternative ways of curing ones self and I've known MANY people who've felt better after following this: Before noon, you are only to eat fruit, (Grapefruit, oranges, papaya, kiwi, melons) and it's better if you can buy organic fruit. For lunch, cut down on your dairy and meat intake, eat A LOT of esparagus and Kale, (not too steamed or you'll lose a lot of necessary nutrients) and a lot of salads with dressings, NOT bought from stores! For your fat intake, avacado, nuts beans... Don't get me wrong you can still enjoy other foods, just try to decrease the quantity of junk that enters your body. Eat VERY lightly, (veggies) before bed. The most fat should be consumed at lunch time, that way, it's not the 1st thing your body eats, however you can burn it off before bed time. Try this diet to make you feel better. Best of Luck!
    Heavy menses would be a cause of thalassemia. The symptoms are fatigue, weakness, breathlessness, headaches, rapid weak pulse.

    Have you had your thyroid tested? The symptoms you mention are classic for hypothyroidism as well.
    There may be no obvious symptoms at all, or there may be mild symptoms such as fatigue that can be traced to the presence of mild anaemia. There may be slight but painless enlargement of the spleen.
