It may or it may not. It really depends on the individual. I know some people that had more hairloss on Synthroid. It's real important to always test in the morning and keep track of your TSH on Synthoid. Most feel best with the morning TSH around 1.0. If after 6 months with it at once you still have hairloss then its time to try a T4/T3 thyroid medication. Synthoid is only T4. Some people need both the T4 and the T3. You won't know that though for a while. I suggest if at all possible to get a Free T4 and Free T3 along with the TSH. These free tests show the actual amounts of T3 and T4 in your blood available for use by your body. If these levels are low in range it suggests you need more of that particular hormone.
I started out on Levoxyl. It lowered my TSH, but never helped with any symptoms. I didn't find relief until I was taking bothT4 and T3.
Thyroid link below to start withIf I start on Synthroid will it ';REALLY'' help with my hair loss and other symptoms ?
I TAKE IT AND IT DOES HELP WITH HAIR LOSS AND WEIGHT, BUT ONLY IF IT IS PRESCRIBED BY YOUR DR, OTHERWISE YOU COULD HAVE HEART FAILURE OR WORSE.If I start on Synthroid will it ';REALLY'' help with my hair loss and other symptoms ?
It absolutely will help and it would be something you would have to take the rest of your life. I am on synthroid and I start thinking I don't need it and stop taking it, what a mistake. After three days of not taking it I would be very sluggish and sleepy. But I get my energy back after beginning it again. I will not stop taking it again. The hair loss would be temporary and after taking synthorid for a couple of weeks you will feel much better. another thing, I am unable to take the generic brand of synthroid, it just plain doesn't work for me
side effects that may occur-you may initially lose some hair, but this effect is usually tempory.
You may have an allergic reaction such as hives or rash.
Children may hane an increase in pressure within the skull.
Notify Dr. immediatly if you have any of the following symptoms-
Abdominial cramps,anxiety,cahnges in appetite,change in menstral period,chest pain,diarreah,emotional instability,fatigue,fever,flushing,hair loss,headache,hearty attack,or failure,heat intolerance,hyperactivity,increases heart rate,irregular heartbeat,irritability,muscle weakness,nausea,nervousness,palpitations鈥?of breath,sleeplessness,sweating,tremors,vo鈥?loss..
It has helped me.
Just remember to see your doctor for blood tests to be sure you're on the right dose.
And don't stop taking it unless the doctor says to.

What are facial swelling and hair loss symptoms of?
One obvious possibility is a hypothyroid condition, but there cold be other causes as well. What are facial swelling and hair loss symptoms of?
Goodness, it could be a whole number of things - you'd need to provide more detail, but I'd suggest visiting a doctor.
Assuming you haven't been exposed to anything very unusual (burns, radiation), my thought is that you may be having an allergic reaction, especially if this was somewhat sudden. Take a look at any new medications you are taking (or combinations), foods and environment - look for changes.
Best of luck to you and feel better!

What could symptoms of hair loss and headaches be?
I get constant headaches and sometimes even bad migrains... and lately ive noticed my hair thinning out alot within the past 4 months.. What could this be?What could symptoms of hair loss and headaches be?
Sounds like you have an acute bout of stress or anxiety, but do see a doctor to rule out possible allergies or other more serious things such as a tumour. However, I'm pretty certain that your symptoms are linked to a 'psychological' issue, or rather something that is worrying you. What could symptoms of hair loss and headaches be?
With my experience in Gastric Bypass, I have learned that lack of protein in your diet will cause hair loss. I have also noticed that headaches also begin to appear (usually earlier) as well.
So, my thought (other than being anything more serious - like cancer) - is it may be your diet.
Dehydration will cause weakness and migraines. Lack of (or low) protein intake/absorbtion will cause hair loss.
it is so hard to say what could it be just please visit a doc for god's sake and u might have cancer disses just visit the doc(I AM NOT SURE)
tension, dandruff, climate

What can cause the following symptoms? (hair loss, cold hands, feet, joint pain, headaches)?
I'm wondering what can cause the following symptoms:
hair loss, joint pain, cold hands and feet, headaches, tiredness, excessive sweating, nervousness, mood swings.
I'm a 21 year old female within normal weight and have experienced the above symptoms regularly. What can cause the following symptoms? (hair loss, cold hands, feet, joint pain, headaches)?
Sounds like a thyroid issue. You need to get your thyroid function checked. It's a simple blood test. What can cause the following symptoms? (hair loss, cold hands, feet, joint pain, headaches)?
I agree with Wink. It sounds like a thyroid problem. I'm hypothyroid and take medicine for it. I had all the symptoms you've listed except for excessive sweating. Once I was diagnosed and prescribed medicine, I started feeling better after taking the very first pill.

Are bad breath , body odor , oily skin , and sudden hair loss symptoms of anything serious?
I have never had a problem with any of this before. All of these symptoms started suddenly and all at the same time. 35 male ';sorry for my poor spelling of odor the first time';Are bad breath , body odor , oily skin , and sudden hair loss symptoms of anything serious?
Sudden, atypical hair loss can be a sign of many different medical problems -- from nutritional deficiencies to a tumor on the pituitary gland in the brain. If it is slow, gradual hair loss, then that is just male-pattern baldness. The list of possibilities is long.
If you've never had oily skin before but have it now, that it's also odd. You might need to see an endocrinologist as these indicate some type or hormonal imbalances, which could have any range of causes. You can start with a general practitioner / primary care physician, but be sure to get a thorough evaluation. Are bad breath , body odor , oily skin , and sudden hair loss symptoms of anything serious?
You are a bit young, but investigate Parkinson's Disease.
For example: (Parkinson's) Other symptoms may include speaking too softly and in a monotone, writing that gets shaky and smaller across the page, and sometimes trouble swallowing. Constipation is a common problem for people with Parkinson鈥檚 disease. Symptoms may also include oily skin, sweating, and changes in blood pressure. Memory loss and other problems with thinking may also be present.
Here is the full list.

I hope that you don't have this.
Sounds like some kind of intestinal cancer perhaps...
If it's progressed, the odor is because your feces and/or urine is leaking a little bit into your blood stream, and the other symptoms are from your own waste slowly poisoning you from the leakage...
Seems like your Sebaceous glands are overworking:
This can be either because u're on an improper diet (eating too much fat. sources might be cheddar cheese for instance). Either u have abnormal hormonal imbalance (get a blood test, consult an endocrinologist)... or you're on steroids (anabolic steroids)
So what i'd advise u to consult an endocrinologist and a dermatologist @ once!
Get well soon
USUALLY all these symptoms are a clear indication that you are rotting away.
Sure you are not dead yet?
its symptoms that now you are getting older, just take more vitimin in ur meal
