What are some ways to stop hair loss early. Or are there any things that I could do to promote healthy growth?

I'm a guy and I think I could possibly be losing my hair to stress, what do I do.What are some ways to stop hair loss early. Or are there any things that I could do to promote healthy growth?
Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

hair loss is hereditary. try this shampoo called nioxin. it puts your scalp in prime condition to grow hair, but it does not regrow it.

What is the fastest most efficient way to stop hair loss and regrow hair?

Ok so I'm 17 and no one in my family is bald, but i fear that I am still going bald. I look at old pictures of me when i use to have short hair and i had full thick hair and now I have long hair it seems very thin and when i look in to my scalp i can see it and my hairs are practically counted. What can I do or buy to stop this before it gets even worse? What is the fastest most efficient way to stop hair loss and regrow hair?
DO not use heat to style it, wash less often, do not brush it when it is wet, keep it healthy, use good quality shampoo/conditioner, don't color with permanent haircolor. Keep it shorter, the longer it is the more it weighs it down. I have the same problem, I have thinner hair, and i had to quit using most of the stuff i used. and eat right, and take vitamins. Poor nutrition can make you have bad skin, thin hair, weak nails, ect. Check out this site if you interested in vitamins, don't buy the cheap wal-mart ones. www.vitamingirlshop.infoWhat is the fastest most efficient way to stop hair loss and regrow hair?
There are some food you can take and is good for hair loss, the foods have one same character: the color of the food is black. Of course I mean the natural color

Until now no body can explain why the color of food have direct link with hair but it do exists

still, you have see some interesting Information about how the Hollywood Actors did with their hair, hope it can help you.
Well, maybe if you scratch your scalp, try to stop the habit. When you do this it makes the scalp very sensative and unhealthy. Or maybe you wash/ comb your hair too much. If you wash your hair every. single. day. It may sound gross but maybe you should wash it every two days or something like that. That way you won't loose as much hair. And if you comb your hair a lot, try to minimize it. When you comb your hair it pulls out a lot of it. And use some voluming shampoo and conditioner to make it look like your hair is not thinning. And you might want to cut your hair a different way to give you more volume...

i hope this helps(:
Well, what I can say is that you need to be more specific. There are a lot of ways to reduce your hair loss. The main thing is that the type of food you use and your life style. I am from UK and you may be from US. Then the food style and other stuffs changing. Do a little research in internet and you will get all the details that is required to stop your hair loss.

I would reccomend a good multi vitamin and Biotin...they both help with hair breakage. Oh, and condition, condition, condition! That helps too:)How to stop breakage of hair or stop hair loss?
Do you dye your hair? If you do, that can cause major breakage and hair loss if you do it often. Straightening your hair actually damages it as well, if you do it often. I have a few suggestions: Try Dove Intense Repair shampoo/conditioner, or Aussie Deeeep Conditioning Treatment. Those have worked well for me.
yeah, you are losing your hair. i am too, unfortnately.

its cause you straighten your hair alot .. its the same for me. and i used to have a really bad case of OCD , because i would constantly touch my hair .. i was actually pulling out strandss. ( the roots mostly. ) i dont do it as oftenn anymore. but i've noticed alot more bald spots than usual. if you find a good answerr. maybe you could tell me too! IM IN DESPERATE NEED , lool.
do you use any dandruff shampoo, or sometimes when you start to hit puberty you hair falls out
buy pantene ';beautiful lengths'; 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. its not too expensive and works great on me.
I do know that a conditioner with mint in it's ingredients helps a lot.

Products For Stopping Female Hair Loss?

What are or is (if any) the best way to stop or reverse female pattern baldness??? Any products that should work?? Please help.Products For Stopping Female Hair Loss?
as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections, hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also I used herbal treatment - Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it can cause unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body)

It is a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

Does anyone know any good products for stopping hair loss? 10 points for best answer!?

i was in the same situation 5 months ago. First of all..if you are using hair gel daily..stop it.

you can try SPECTRAL DNC ....IT WORKED FOR ME!!

here are some information about the product:

Clinically proven to regrow hair better than any other topical treatment, Spectral DNC is the world鈥檚 most effective topical hair loss treatment.

Spectral DNC lotion contains the highest quality research grade Minoxidil and Aminexil encapsulated in DS Laboratories nanosomes. Nanosomes are organic micro-spheres that are approximately 2020 times smaller then cells and penetrate into the lowest levels of the skin and release the active ingredients gradually over a 15 hr period. In addition to these clinically proven compounds, Spectral DNC contains a vitamin and mineral complex, herbal extracts, copper peptides, and retinal to help re-grow normally strong and healthy hair. These ingredients work synergistically to deliver maximum results in the treatment of hair loss. Spectral DNC is the only formula that uses nanosomes as the carrier agent for Minoxidil and Aminexil. Can be used for the scalp as well as for a receding hairline.

Directions for use:

Apply 14 sprays directly in the area of hair loss/thinning hair, twice per day. Rub in the liquid evenly over the entire area and wash your hands thoroughly after use. Do not rinse off. Spectral DNC should be applied whether your hair has been washed or not. Also note, if you have male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia) then continued use will be necessary to maintain the newly grown hair. If treatment is stopped, hair loss will begin again. If your baldness/thinning hair has been caused by other factors, then it is possible to discontinue treatment and maintain the new hair growth.

Important Safety Information:

Dryness, redness or peeling may occur during the first weeks of treatment. To prevent aggravating the skin, protect it from sun, tanning lights, extreme wind or cold and harsh skincare products. Use of sunscreen is recommended.

Good luck with it! hope it will be ok!Does anyone know any good products for stopping hair loss? 10 points for best answer!?

Propecia is the only FDA approved remedy other than Rogaine.

Propecia taken orally has a reported 29-68% success rate.

Beware of ';natural'; remedies. Baldness treatments not tested by clinical studies are at best dubious.

In 1989, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it will ';ban the sale of any non-prescription hair cream, lotion or other external product claiming to grow hair or prevent baldness';. Since then, manufacturers of nonprescription hair loss products are supposed to have provided FDA with proof of safety and effectiveness before marketing. Although the ban specifically covers products for external use, FDA says there is no evidence that other products like vitamins or food supplements slow hair loss or grow hair. FDA will go after them too.

FDA has taken companies to court, sought injunctions against them, seized inventories and collected penalties. They can even seek criminal penalties (jail time) against distributors and manufacturers. Report fraud. Contact the FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinator in your state. Also, be sure to spend some time at their website. It's well worth the visit. FDA website.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) prohibits ';unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium';. Also, ';claims must be substantiated, especially when they concern health, safety or performance';. Yes, this definitely includes any suggestion that a product helps thinning hair, stops hair loss or grows hair. If companies make such claims and offer no evidence (substantiation), they're inviting FTC on their doorstep.

There have been more than 100 baldness cases before FTC since 1950. FTC has enforcement powers similar to FDA's. They also may seek consumer redress. That's when you get your money back. Report scams here too. It's easy. Just use the online FTC Complaint Form. Their website is also a must-visit: FTC website at http://www.ftc.gov

So far, only 2 treatments (Propecia and Rogaine) could actually address the problems of baldness directly...by blocking the hormone DHT. Hair follicles can die. Sadly, some hair follicles slowly shrink and die in the presence of DHT. This causes 95% of all hair loss. DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is created naturally inside your body when the enzyme 5 alpha reductase combines with the hormone testosterone. In both men and women, it's called androgenetic alopecia or hair loss if you prefer.

ummm don't! They're all fake and just want you to dig deep in your pockets for their products. Hair transplants are the ';for sure thing'; to go.
Number of reasons cause hair loss like emotional and physical stress, hormonal imbalances during teenage and pregnancy, adverse drug reaction, malnutrition, illness etc.

Cure of the problem:

* Wet hair should not be brushed.

* The juice of leaves of bhongra massaged on the head is effective hair tonic.

* Avoid rubber bands, spiky brushes and sharp clips.

* The oil extracted from the seeds of sagvan is massaged on the head to check premature loss of hair.

* Apply a little lemon juice with 4 tablespoon of coconut milk to the scalp. Wash the hair after an hour. Repeat this every week.

* Get your hair trimmed every 4-5 weeks even if you are growing it.

* The oil extracted from rohisa, briskly rubbed on the head helps in growing hairs.

* The paste made from powdered seeds of shana with coconut / sesame / castor oil is used as hair tonic.

* To control the problem of falling hair, massage with olive oil. Dip towel in hot water and then cover your head with that towel. Do it again when it get cools. Do this for 15 minutes before shampooing.

good luck :)

Reduce Hair Loss With A Thorough Head Massage

http://www.askaquery.com/Answers/qn1681.鈥?/a>
No need in fighting something you can't control. Just shave it down and it will still look good. My husband used to wear a hat alot to cover his bald spot(genetic). We stated shaving his head with clippers and now he looks funny with hair. It may take awhile to get used to but trust me it looks better.
There's no set product that will stop hair loss. Natural Remedies work better. From the beginning of time, man has struggled to come up with a cure for hair loss. Here's a look at some of the lotions and potions designed to grow hair.

Ancient Egypt

To stimulate hair growth, the Egyptians applied chopped lettuce patches to bald spots. Lettuce was associated with Min, the Egyptian god of virility.

Another hair growth formula included a scalp massage preparation made from Fir Tree extracts. The Egyptians extracted the resin, or made an infusion from the needles, then massaged it into their scalps.

The Egyptians also used Castor Oil to encourage hair growth. They mixed it with Sweet Almond Oil to improve the aroma and make the oil smoother and easier to spread.

The Ancient Egyptians believed that thick hair was best and often improved on their own growth with hair extensions and wigs made from human hair or sheep's wool.

Sub-Sahara Africa

Ancient Africans steeped flowers in Olive Oil to make fragrant hair tonics.

They also relied on the astringent properties of Avocado leaves to make infusions that were ideal for treating scalp problems.

India

To stimulate hair growth and natural pigmentation, followers of Ayurveda boiled sage leaves in coconut oil and applied the blackened residue to the hair and scalps.

Fenugreek was used to combat hair loss.

Indians mixed coconut milk with a pinch of black pepper and Fenugreek powder.

Amla Oil (made from Indian Gooseberries) boiled in coconut oil was also used as a hair tonic to stimulate growth.

The Amazon

In the rainforests of South America, the Taiwano Indians treated scalp problems with heated extract of banana.

Victorian America

Hair loss was treated by applying a mixture of cologne, spirit of camphor and tincture of cantharides to hair roots each night. Another preventative measure called for mixing tincture of cantharides with Jamaica Rum, Glycerine, Sesqui-Carbonate of Ammonia, Rosemary Oil and Distilled Water.

Vigorous brushing was the most prescribed hair care treatment. Using a stiff brush was supposed to keep the hair soft and shiny, while a soft brush was believed to stimulate hair growth.
Try going to healthyhairplus.com. They have a package of Vitamin Shampoo, Folli-Cleanse Shampoo, and Amino %26amp; Protein Hair Restorer/Conditioner for $27.95 (all 8 oz. bottles). I used them when I was growing my hair out and not only did it increase the amount of hair that I had, it made my exsisting hair much healthier. Give it a try. I have yet to find anything better and I am a cosmetologist.

Why spend the money? Many women these days find bald men attractive. Save the money, shave your head and start having fun. It's not whats on the outside that matters, it's what's on the inside. So, try what I suggested, and see what a difference it makes....What are the treatments(oils, shampoos) available for stopping loss of hair on the scalp?
Stay away from oils and pore clogging products. Go and get a good scalp massage a couple times a week.
well this isnt for u.s but didnt you try sesame oil. i know in the usa people with hair loss use rogain. maybe u should talk to ur doctor about hair vitamin pills to see if it works. well good luck
There is a full line of products brand named ';Nioxin'; available specifically for thinning hair. The only product available that helps regrow hair is ';Rogaine.'; Unfortunately, once you start using it, you must continue using it or you lose what you have gained. Good luck.
Provillus is a new and revolutionary herbal medication to treat hair loss in men and women. Provillus comes in a convenient tablet form that is taken daily for the treatment of male hair loss and female hair loss. Provillus is an all-natural supplement available without a prescription.

Provillus first works to reverse the effects of the hormones that caused the initial hair loss. By using RNA, nutrients are delivered to the hair follicle, and the follicle will slowly become stronger and thicker.

Provillus eliminates clogged hair follicles by dissolving dead skin cells, scalp oil (sebum), and residue from shampooing and may reverse the damage caused by DHT. Then, RNA works with your natural DNA processes to deliver vital nutrients to the follicle.

Provillus provides hair follicles with capsicum, amino acids, and essential minerals to prevent NDF (Nutrient Deficient Follicles, the third leading cause of premature hair loss). With proper nutrition and increased blood flow to the scalp, dormant follicles can begin producing healthy hair once again.

I have been a Stylist for eleven years and, by far the best TOPICAL solution I've seen really work is Nioxin. (link one below) The distinction between a professional product versus a commercial product is PRESCRIPTION. In a salon, your stylist works w/ you and your hair. They have also been trained on every product line they carry. So you're not going in blind. Click on the second link to get your specific needs assessed. The only solution w/ a higher success rate is Propecia. An internal solution for an external problem. (as it is generally the scalp, hair follicle and hair itself that create hair loss in the first place.) Second only to stress.

Your hair loss may have started with a few extra hairs in the sink or in your comb. But now you can't look in the mirror without seeing more of your scalp.

Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp and can be the result of heredity, certain medications or an underlying medical condition. Anyone 鈥?men, women and children 鈥?can experience hair loss.

Some people prefer to let their baldness run its course untreated and unhidden. Others may cover it up with hairstyles, makeup, hats or scarves. And still others choose one of the medications and surgical procedures that are available to treat baldness. Before pursuing any of these treatment options, talk with your doctor about the cause of and best possible treatments for your hair loss.

    Why Hair Loss?

Hair loss or baldness is a condition in which hair does not grow on the scalp after hair fall. The most common form of baldness is the development of a hair thinning condition called androgenic alopecia or male baldness which occurs in adult males.

Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?

I couldn't tell you the names of shampoos and conditioners, but I was hoping that this article would be a helpful place for you to start.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/MEDLINEPLUS/ency/鈥?/a>Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?
I've had hair loss issues before in the past and what I noticed is that as long as I used shampoos that were sulfate free (no sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate ingredients) I didn't have as much hair clogging the drain everytime I showered.

I use organic and natural hair products that I buy from places like Whole Foods or other health stores. Even the supermarket Stop and Shop carries organic and natural products.

BTW, Do NOT open the link in the previous message. The guy is total spammer and I've seen the same post in multiple other q/a's.Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?
The shampoo and the conditioner are not causing the hair to fall out.

You know that we all lose hair every day... as much as 80 to 100 hairs a day. That may seem like a lot, but it would take a little over 7 years to lose all your hair.

Your hair falls out and in a couple months, a new hair grows in that same follicle. It grows very fast, then slows down, and in about 4 to 7 years, it stops and falls out. Then it starts all over again. You cannot change this. As long as you are healthy, you are doing all that you can. NOTHING you put on the outside can affect what goes on inside your skin. The only thing that grows is someone's bank account. Remember that.
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>

Good advices, tips on reducing or stopping hair loss?

Good advices, tips on reducing or stopping hair loss? I am only 22 and I recently started losing a lot of hair on my head. I need some advices and tips how to reduce the hair loss or stop it. Thanks.Good advices, tips on reducing or stopping hair loss?
Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.Good advices, tips on reducing or stopping hair loss?
The first thing to do is look to see what you are doing to to your hair and scalp. What products are you using? Some things that you think are very innocent can contain ingredients that are harmful to you. Don't always trust that because they are ';safe'; to be sold, therefore they should be good for you! Not so!!

There are a lot of things that young people do which are downright wrong and bad for them. But they know everything! hahaha

The other thing is that you are at the age where hormones are doing their thing. One of the things about ';being a man'; and having all that testosterone running through you is that it causes your hair to fall out. Sad, but true. There is a product produced by your body which actually causes your hair to stop growing. In the normal cycle, the hair stops growing after about 4-7 years, rests a short time, and a new hair grows again in its place. However, if you have too much of the side product (androgens) from testosterone, it causes your hair follicle to rest forever.

One thing studies have shown is you need to keep your scalp very clean. Again, a good plain shampoo, without any fancy expensive ingredients -- they can add to the problem. Check your general health as well; sometimes your hair and skin is the first sign of some imbalance in your body. Good circulation is necessary, so exercise, massage, good food all play a part.

As long as you are healthy, and everything is working well, then nothing to worry about. Some men just start losing their hair about 20, and there isn't much you can do about it. It started many years ago. Enjoy who you are. I'm told that some women find bald very sexy! You may like it yet!
Good hair growth starts with good internal health. Do you have a history of hair loss in your family? Consult with a local wholistic doctor in your area for some good advice, hope this helps.

    http://www.hair-loss-baldness-solutions.鈥?/a>
It may just happen no matter what you do... sorry. Have other men in your family lost their hair at a young age? It may be genetic.

Men lose the hair on their head because of increased testosterone- so you could always use that excuse :)

Not sure if this would help you (I'm female), but I got my hair looking healthier and to stop falling out so much when I just cut it short, took a good multivitamin %26amp; ate flaxseed, salmon %26amp; drank more water. Massaging my head with Jojoba oil seemed to help, and reducing stress definitely contributed. It's taken a solid year. Sometimes, though, you can't do anything to change your hormones.

My question is about stopping hair loss and getting lost hair to grow back.?

I've heard about Rogaine, Scalpmed , and all the other numerous hair regrowth products. I would like to know what actually works and what's safe. I heard from a friend that Rogaine has sexual side effects. Is that true? I mean, I would like to grow what I've lost but, not at the expense of my sex life. Could someone help me out?My question is about stopping hair loss and getting lost hair to grow back.?
Rogaine and regrowth products do not work. Confirm with an ANSWERS Search and a Google. This natural, safe treatment truly stops loss almost straight away and forces new growth (can send you testimonials). Massage thoroughly with olive or any natural oil - then brush vigorously using a palm held brush with short natural boar bristles - soft bristled for fine straight hair and stiff bristled for thicker non straight hair- so you really feel it stimulating scalp - 90 /100 strokes at beginning building up to more - each day, focusing on where loss is. Will heal scalp and unplug blocked hair ducts that sometimes cause loss - they are the painful small itching spots. A little shedding and breakage may occur at first but quickly stops as brushing makes hair stronger and better anchored. Hair will grow fast, thicker and It will force the new growth. Initially new hairs will be weak looking and sparse. Don't be concerned if brushing uproots them as they will re-appear even stronger. My hair has completely regrown on crown. Where receded at front regrowth was slower and sparse at first then each month it became denser. It demands perseverance week in, week out to get the same results.

Thinning and loss can be caused by many shampoos - particularly anti dandruff ones - and hair products that contain countless hair, scalp and even health harming harsh and toxic ingredients. Find ';Non harmful shampoos, etc'; with Google searches. Some will come up and be expensive or only available on-line so refine search by adding ';low cost';. Available in GNC, Trader Joes, Some Walmart Stores, Cost Plus, Wegmans, Earth Fare, natural %26amp; health foods stores.

I Have had feed back from others. One had substantial regrowth in just 6 months.

    Wish you the best.

SOURCE(S): 20+ years research, self experimentation using natural treatments for hair loss, regrowth and cures of skin, scalp and hair disordersMy question is about stopping hair loss and getting lost hair to grow back.?
The only way to get your hair back is through HAIR TRANSPLANT.

The above products do not affect the excess testosterone that wraps itself around the hair follicle and falls out. This is assuming that you have ';male pattern baldness'; which is inherited.

I went to two dermatologists and was told nothing could be done, accept the fact that 30% of American Men are bald.

There by the way is one permanent solution, ';castration'; but the side affect are Hell. One of the Physicians laughingly told me this.

Not sure about the side effects but this should help. Daily application of refined coconut oil, mixed with lime juice on the hair, prevents hair loss and lengthens it. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

It's gotten so bad. The hair loss on my head is ridiculous. I have to wear headbanda everyday. I can't put them on anymore, though because they make me incredibly itchy and they hurt. Not a day goes by that I dont cry when I look in the mirror. I miss so many days of school because of this; I feel so self conscious. Being a fat 17 year old with depression and anxiety is bad enough, so why do I have to be balding too? Please, please, is there anyone who can give me some advice or just say something to make me feel a little better. I'm going crazy. Help!I have PCOS.The worst symptom for me is my hair loss.Is there anyone who can help me cope? Please.?

check the thyroid..hypo can cause hair loss
Please see your doctor! Most PCOS patients have problems with hair growth, not loss, and doctors give them Spironolactone for facial/body hair. Find out from your doctor what is happening with your hormones that is causing you to lose hair. Are you taking anything for your PCOS, like Metformin or birth control pills? Or if you are taking something for depression, that might be the cause too.

Hang in there! I know it's not easy, I was diagnosed at 19. Good luck. I can't stress it enough: talk to an endocrinologist.

I want to know the symptom of thalassaemia? I am 52 years old. Lately I feel very tired and having hair-loss?

    My Blood Test results:

Film: The red cells shows mild erythrocytosis, mild anisocytosis, moderate microcytosis, mild hypochromia, several target cells, several elliptocytes, several burr cells, several fragmented cells, an occasional tear drop cell and several schistocytes. The white cells and platelets appear normal.

The blood film is suggestive of thalassaemia trait and/or iron deificiency.

I have heavy menses for the last few 3 months lasted for a week. Recently I have my menses (April 15-17) and I lost quite a lot of blood on the 2nd day (April 16). April 17 I felt dizzy and my menses stopped in the morning and then at about 3:00 p.m. the blood started to flow a little.

Lately I felt very tired and wanted to sleep and having hair-loss. But I have very good appetite.

Please help. Thanks.I want to know the symptom of thalassaemia? I am 52 years old. Lately I feel very tired and having hair-loss?
What are the symptoms of thalassemia?

Mild thalassemia usually does not cause any symptoms. However, symptoms of anemia may develop in more severe forms of the condition and may include:

    Weakness.

    Fatigue.

    Lightheadedness.

Skin that looks paler than normal.

Jaundice (skin and whites of eyes appear yellow).

    Dark urine.

Decreased appetite and weight loss (poor growth in a child).

    Rapid heartbeat.

Shortness of breath during exercise.I want to know the symptom of thalassaemia? I am 52 years old. Lately I feel very tired and having hair-loss?
I'm 62,I have no idea of what all the medical terms in your Question mean. All I know for sure is,At times my can do can't keep up with my want to.lol As long as I make sure I walk 10 to 15 miles per week, work in the yard some and eat right I continue to feel fine.To me I would only start worrying if I were to lose my appetite.

About the hair loss,My grandfather told me along time ago,You will know you are getting old, when hair doesn't grow where it is supposed to and grows like crazy everywhere it is not supposed to.Hope this helps.Keep your chin up and face into the wind.
I don't know that Pharmaceuticals would be the best answer in this case. I'm into alternative ways of curing ones self and I've known MANY people who've felt better after following this: Before noon, you are only to eat fruit, (Grapefruit, oranges, papaya, kiwi, melons) and it's better if you can buy organic fruit. For lunch, cut down on your dairy and meat intake, eat A LOT of esparagus and Kale, (not too steamed or you'll lose a lot of necessary nutrients) and a lot of salads with dressings, NOT bought from stores! For your fat intake, avacado, nuts beans... Don't get me wrong you can still enjoy other foods, just try to decrease the quantity of junk that enters your body. Eat VERY lightly, (veggies) before bed. The most fat should be consumed at lunch time, that way, it's not the 1st thing your body eats, however you can burn it off before bed time. Try this diet to make you feel better. Best of Luck!
Heavy menses would be a cause of thalassemia. The symptoms are fatigue, weakness, breathlessness, headaches, rapid weak pulse.

Have you had your thyroid tested? The symptoms you mention are classic for hypothyroidism as well.
There may be no obvious symptoms at all, or there may be mild symptoms such as fatigue that can be traced to the presence of mild anaemia. There may be slight but painless enlargement of the spleen.

What is hair loss as in big chunks a symptom of??

in the book im reading the girl is suffering this and she could have been being poisoned but then she ate only food prepared by her nurse (since birth). what other illnesses does this signify??What is hair loss as in big chunks a symptom of??
the term for hair loss is called alopecia and it could be due to alot of things, esp. lackin in certaing types of vitamins ((mostly Bs)) and nutrients. Also, she could have an iron deficiency. there are many different types of hair loss. What is hair loss as in big chunks a symptom of??
lack of protein! but also LOTS of other things are possible, go to this site it wil direct you to more possibilities. its most likely a vitamin/mineral deffinicency, take a multi vitamin!

I just got birthcontrol and after i did i found out hair loss is a symptom?

i just got on Depo Provara and i am really scared my doctor gave me a hand book a week before i got it and i read it i thought all of it, but it turns out that after i got the shot their was a symptom of hair loss! i don't want to lose my hair, how common is it for a women to lose her hair on the Depo shot?I just got birthcontrol and after i did i found out hair loss is a symptom?
I'm not sure about the Depo shot, but my roommate was on Yaz and that made her hair fall out. It might be more common than women realize. However I'm on continuous borth control and haven't noticed my hair falling out. I would just wait and see sometimes you don't have every single side-effect, a lot of times the most common ones that are listed are the ones you can garauntee experiencing.

I hope your hair doesn't fall out. If it does, you can talk to your doctor about other possible options.I just got birthcontrol and after i did i found out hair loss is a symptom?
You might notice a few more hairs in your brush is all. I've been on it a year and a half. I think I've had a few more hairs in my brush. Really, it's not noticeable on your head.

What gets me is the fatigue, depression(mood swings),spotting, an occasional headache, I've been dizzy once, vaginal dryness and dry mouth

Did you read it causes bone loss? I have gained 20lb but I blame 5 of them on the shot...lol!

Make sure to eat right, exercise, and take a calcium supplimenet (I never remember mine)
During trials for all medications all the symptoms that occurred during the trial are noted. I'm sure the hair loss symptom is very, very rare and you shouldn't worry about it. I've never heard of such a thing but I'm sure there are 100 other things paranoid people during the clinical trial wrote down that would make you laugh, do not stress my dear.
Im on depo provera and I havent experienced any hair loss. My hair dresser actually thinks my hair is thicker.

  • Can hair loss be a symptom of cancer??

Is it possible to lose your hair if you have cancer. Is it one of the symptoms.I thought that you only lose your hair in chemo. Can u lose it before that. Can hair loss be a symptom of cancer??
no, you do not have hair loss because of cancer .....it can be alot of reasons for hair loss .sometimes :stress , food etc.

please do not worry about hair loss , unless you are getting bald ..it usually does not happen ,some chemical imbalance .nothing serious ........

please consult if you are worry .............Can hair loss be a symptom of cancer??
I have never heard of hair loss due to cancer, unless you have cancer of the scalp or something. However, you can loose your hair due to extreme stress or shock, so I guess for some people the news of a cancer diagnosis could technically cause hair loss. I had a friend who lost all his hair ( even his eyebrows) when his wife had a heart attack. And that kind of hairloss (alopesia totalis) is perminent.
Hair loss is a side effect of chemo. There are other reasons hair can fall out faster than normal i.e. chemical imbalance/hormones, poor diet, stress, Alopecia, herditary
    ya
    Hello Whatever 1,

What is hair loss? rule of thumb says that grabbing a handful of hair and then pulling firmly, but not to hurt, should yield max 5 hair straws in your hand. If more, you are losing hair. Nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, skin diseases, inflammatory conditions, would be the most common causes of real hair loss -except if you are a man and happen to have early baldness in your family. Then -alas -there is not much one can-need? to do.(But not everybody gets these in the family -having had a totally bald grandfather since he was 30yr I have a 83 yr old father with lots of hair, proves this point)

As a symptom of cancer : yes-if cancer causes grave hormonal imbalance like serious loss of thyroid hormone or profound anaemia or nutritional deficiencies -but then, most likely, you are having masses of other symptoms also. Not only hair loss.

So -hope you are not only curious but also do not suffer from real hair loss!

    All the best

Hair loss is not (as far as I know) caused by the cancer itself. The shock of having cancer or chemotherapy treatments would cause hair loss.

Is is possibel for a ferret to have adrenal disease with the absense of the main symptom? (hair loss)?

My male ferret (age 5) is experiencing difficulty in using his hind legs - The left more than the right. The vet told me it could be a sign or advance adrenal disease or lymphoma. His lymph nodes and spleen do not seem to be swollen, so lymphoma is probably not the case. However, difficulty using the hind legs seems to be one of the last symptoms of adrenal disease - The first and most prominent symptom being hair loss. My ferrets has not experienced any hair loss. He did lose some weight and was quite a bit larger when he was a young (1-2 years old) ferret, but all my ferrets seem to have gotten slightly smaller as they advance in age. He did not seem to display excessive drinking and urinating, or increased scratching. And the hind-leg weakness seems to have come on rather suddenly. Does anyone have any additional information for me?Is is possibel for a ferret to have adrenal disease with the absense of the main symptom? (hair loss)?
Did your vet do blood-work? Hind leg weakness can be caused by A LOT of things not just insulinoma or adrenal tumors. If your ferret is not exhibiting any other symptoms it is hard to diagnose this without the help of your vet. Here is a link that can give you some insight...but you really need to communicate with your vet on this one.

http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content鈥?/a>Is is possibel for a ferret to have adrenal disease with the absense of the main symptom? (hair loss)?
it's possible that it would still be adrenal disease (not every animal follows the typical timeline of symptoms), but not very likely. have they checked his sugar to make sure it's not insulinoma? weakness of the hind end is a symptom of that, too, and was the first thing my ferret showed when he was diagnosed. if it's not sporadic, and seems to be a permanent thing, it's possible it's an injury as well. were x-rays done?

CBC bloodwork, glucose tests %26amp; x-rays should be able to narrow it down for you. it's not cheap to do to all at once, but may be worth it if there is treatment for what's wrong. give the fur-beastie a pat of good luck for me.

Symptoms for 7 months, no diagnosis. Excessive hair loss, muscle pain, swollen nodes.?

    Hello!

I`m a 19 year old female who`s been experiencing a series of symptoms for the past 7 months that doctors have been unable to diagnose.

Firstly, my hair has been falling out and as you can imagine, this has been very emotionally stressful. Since about 7 months ago, I`ve lost more then 75% of hair from all over my head. The hair loss is not patchy, but has been thinning all over. I used to have long, extremely thick and beautiful hair, and now its almost gone. The hair loss is not localized to my head as I've even noticed that the hair on my legs and in my pubic area have barely been growing back after shaving. I did see a dermatologist and he said that I must have an underlying autoiumme disease that's causing the hair loss. He suspects lupus or a related disease, but as of yet, blood tests have shown no irregularities.

Since around the same time my hair has been falling out, Ive noticed that the lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen. Sometimes they are red and sensitive (especially after drinking alcohol or smoking) but usually they're painless. I've also been experiencing a lot of joint/muscle pain and stiffness. Some days it gets really bad and I can barely move, even typing/writing is difficult because the muscles in my hands are so stiff. I feel like every muscle and joint in my body is inflamed. I'm only 19 and I'm having as hard of a time moving around as my 55 year old mother with MS.

Lastly, (and I'm not sure if this is related at all) my skin has been really dry and especially itchy. I'm not sure if I've noticed any rashes, but I have noticed some redness (light red spots) randomly on my skin.

My family doctor did a thorough blood analysis and everything came back normal. There is no sign of vitamin deficiency, my thyriod was normal, no diabetes, my blood cell count was normal, kidney/liver function was normal, and I'm clean for STD's/STI's. I really don't know where to go from here and im terrified that if I don't find out whats wrong, I'm going to go bald.

Does anyone know what these symptoms indicate? Any advice as to what I should get tested for/where I should go from here would be great.

Thank you in advance for the help!Symptoms for 7 months, no diagnosis. Excessive hair loss, muscle pain, swollen nodes.?

Can extreme hair loss be a symptom of pre-menopause?

I've had some weird symptoms for some time: pubic hair loss, vaginal wall swelling, clitoral leak. What is it?

In addition, my labia (vaginal lips) are always sore. It's painful to use tampons. I have been to a doctor and it seems like they ignore me whenever I tell them that my vagina is swelling, or that I have extreme hair loss. I don't use chemicals nor do I wax. Until a year ago, I always had a considerable amount of public hair. Now, I will wipe after using the restroom and there are strands left on the tissue. I don't want to even think about being intimate with my fiance because it's soooo painful. Any sound advice you can offer would be helpful, as this is so embarassing to talk about to anyone.I've had some weird symptoms for some time: pubic hair loss, vaginal wall swelling, clitoral leak. this sounds like it could be something serious. you need to find a different doctor right away! these symptoms are not normal! good luck!I've had some weird symptoms for some time: pubic hair loss, vaginal wall swelling, clitoral leak. What is it?

Is loss of hair a symptom of anemia?

OK, I've been having this issue for a little while. I think my hair is like, falling out. I don't pull it out or anything but if I'm in the shower and I wash my hair or even if I just run my hand through it I get a fistful of at least 10 strands. I have thin hair to begin with but this is just a little much for me. I know I'm anemic but is this a sign of anemia? Like, my hair doesn't have enough Iron so its not strong enough. Any help here?Is loss of hair a symptom of anemia?
Iron, thyroid, not getting enough protien, b12 or folic acid. all could be your problem.

Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores oh and pale mucous membranes in lower eyelid. Is loss of hair a symptom of anemia?
yes it could be although i wont say that is your problem....i am anemic and had the same problem...mine actually thinned so bad on top in the front that i really got worried about it but it gradually thickened back in over time after beginning treatments for anemia
I'm anemic, and I get more mental symptoms- mostly not being able to sleep and depression, but I've also experienced hair loss.
if u have dyed ur hair it can be cause of that

or the hair products u use can cause an allergic reaction

or u are going through a hormonal change.

    i wouldnt worry about it

My cat has hair clumps & hair loss, is this a symptom of something wrong?

She has matted up clumps on her belly which also leaves a bald spot and has been loosing hair all over the place, although only bald spot is on her belly. She is a long haired cat, but having more hair loss than usual. My cat has hair clumps %26amp; hair loss, is this a symptom of something wrong?
Definately take her to the vet. this recently happened to my cat and he had a skin infection which needed to be drained. He is alright but he is medicated and has a temporary tube on his side to drain the puss. He also is wearing an e-collar to prevent himself from licking. Yours probably isn't as serious, but take her to the vet asap.My cat has hair clumps %26amp; hair loss, is this a symptom of something wrong?
Most of the time hair clumping is caused by not grooming enough. If you're not combing/brushing her enough, and her long hair is ';overwhelming'; her, she won't be able to keep it clean and straightened out. Then it gets matted, and the skin underneath gets irritated. She'll pull out her hair in clumps, since it's so matted she can't get to the irritation any other way. She could also have fleas under all of that matted hair....another irritant ( happened to my Himalayan, and there had been no ';visible'; sign of fleas! ). PLEASE take her to the vet ASAP, for a checkup (fleas) and to have her groomed. They may have to shave her, if she's too matted.....or at least to get the clumps of hair off. If she doesn't have fleas, and is just itching, they can give her a steroid shot for the itch and some meds to clear up any other problem. Hope this helps...Good luck!
yes, take her to the vet ASAP
Yes. Get to a vet. It could be something quite simple, but you should have her checked out. This is not normal.
you should take it to the vet thats very sad thought
she may be lonely. birds will pick out their feathers when they are lonely or sad, this may be happening with your cat. if you have a sibling (this happened to me) they might be eating the fur.
she may have flees i had the same problem with my cat get a wet piece of kitchen roll place it under your cat and comb the fur if you get spots of blood on the kitchen roll your cat has flees the specks of blood are out of the flees poo were it has been feeding of your cat

What do these symptoms mean? The hair loss?

Over the past, I don't know, 3 months, I have noticed that I lose a lot of hair in the shower. All I do is run a hand through my wet hair and out comes a handful of hair. I probably lose about 30 or so hair strands in the shower alone. Lately, my hair comes out even if it is dry. Just today, I ran my hand through my dry hair and out came 20 or so strands. Lots more come out when I even try to brush my hair. It is really starting to scare me. The most frightening part is that I even lose hair in my sleep. I wake up and look and my pillow and there are 20 or so pieces of hair. Like I said, this had never happened before prior to the last 3 or so months. I also have other symptoms that I will list below to see if any of yall can connect these symptoms together.

    - Tiredness (I sleep for a good 13 or so hours now where as before, I only slept maybe 7 or 8 hours)

    - Headaches

    - Dizziness

    - Blurry Vision

    - Teeth Ache

    - Moodiness (Yes I'm a girl, but I have never lashed out at my family like I am now)

    - Cramps (Before, I rarely experienced cramps and now I have them all the time)

    - Feeling of Weakness (All the time)

    - Stomach Aches

    - Mouth always seems to seem dry

    - Excessive Sweating

Thank You so much to anyone who answers.

Ps. I am only 14 years old so this seems very odd to me.What do these symptoms mean? The hair loss?
You need to get yourself to the doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. I immediately thought ';thyroid'; but there need to be tests done to see if that is the case.

  • Hair Loss and Other Symptoms Help?

I'm 17 years old and have had hair loss for over 2 years now. I first noticed it on my scalp but it seems to have spread to my eyelashes, pubic hair, and eyebrows. The hairs from my scalp have little white bulbs at the ends when they fall out and my scalp has an odd smell even after washing. Irregular periods(since they started), lightheaded often, tired a lot, and being dizzy at times are my other symptoms. I've been to my general doctor, a dermatologist, endocrinologist, and a gynecologist and none of them have been able to help me. I've had normal results on blood tests for hormone levels, thyroid, and others I don't remember. I've also tried to take metformin pills and birth control pills that didn't help all my symptoms. I don't really know what to do next and my hair loss is getting worse. Any suggestions or advice would be great. ThanksHair Loss and Other Symptoms Help?

Thanks!Recovering anorexic: how long until the symptoms stop? (ie: hair loss, lanugo)?
Good for you! The lanugo will come off gradually as you gain weight and stabilize, and the hair loss will become minimal over time as well. There is no way to tell how long it will take, but keep in mind that your body responds fairly quickly to even small improvements in diet (in your case, taking in more calories), and will become healthier in pace with the improvements. Expect changes to come weekly. You're well on your way to a healthier body and a happier state of mind!Recovering anorexic: how long until the symptoms stop? (ie: hair loss, lanugo)?
I don't know the answer to your question, but I have to praise you for taking steps to recover. It is a huge deal and very very difficult. So I must give you much praise for taking care of this problem and yourself. Keep going with it. I wish you the best of luck!

What could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?

22 years old female. 3 children last child delivered on 3/13/2009. Had Mirena put in on 6/30/09. Overall healthy.

Complaints: After having my daughter I started feeling very tired and associated that with just motherly fatigue. But now, nearly 5 months later, I feel exhausted at all times. I could sleep for 10 hours and still have trouble waking up and I'll fall asleep sometime later or have difficulty staying awake. I also have significant hair loss starting 3-4 weeks ago. It has been so significant that now my hair is visibly thinner and keeps thinning-I find hairs all over and in the shower it just falls out in chunks. I also have some general malaise and it seems that my bones hurt (strange I know). I'm freaking out. I don't have any other problems that I've noticed.

Please if you have any suggestions let me know. What could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?
anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago ( after my second child ) I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss!

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

    and here

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

not only my own personal experience + working as a family physician

http://www.trichozed.infoWhat could these symptoms mean? Hair loss, Exhaustion?
I would go to your doctor and have your thyroid checked out--sometimes hair loss is a sign of thyroid disfunction. It could also be some other type of hormone imbalance so definitely get it checked out. Hope you start feeling better!
Well I had the same thing, except I'm a little younger than you are, without children.

I would come home from school and just go right to sleep. I fell asleep in classes, on the bus, everywhere possible.

I was also loosing tons of hair in the shower, and it was getting thinner by the day.

I went to the doctor, and I described everything to her, and she told me I wasn't getting enough vitamins, and it was causing my body to want to just rest.

My guess is it would be something relating to this, but your best bet is to visit your doctor. The people on Yahoo Answers can't diagnose you correctly, so I'd really suggest going in.

But I really hope you get better!

    and I hope I helped!

    good luck!
it's possible it could be malnutrition. not that you're not eating right, but maybe your body isn't absorbing certain vitamins. try taking a daily multi-vitamin. if nothing gets better, see a doctor.

    good luck!

    EDIT:

it ALSO could be that your bones arent absorbing Calcium! on second thought, i STRONGLY suggest you go see your doctor. a woman i know lost her entire mouth of teeth because during her pregnancy her body stopped absorbing calcium %26amp; now she has dentures! at age 22! (i'm not trying to scare you, i'm sorry, it's just possible that this COULD be very serious!)
Hereditary hair loss or Androgenetic Alopecia

Hair loss (androgenetic alopecia or hereditary hair loss) is caused primarily due to the impact that androgens have on the hair follicles. There is a genetic predisposition for this particular category of hair loss to take place which could also be expressed at a very young age. Not only it is the main cause of androgenetic alopecia as it accounts 50-70% of all cases, but it also responsible for 40-50% of all female hair loss. The main factor that affects hair loss is the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The hair follicles at the top of the head are particularly sensitive to the effect of this hormone. DHT shortens the hair growth cycle reducing the follicle size thus leading to shedding of hair.

In males, hair loss happens in following time frames that are interrupted by remission phases. The hair becomes more and more thin and short and is finally changed into indiscernible fuzz with distinct signs of balding especially at the top of the head. The sooner the hair loss begins, the faster the process becomes. In females, hair loss occurs in seasonal spurts and follows a slow process. The hair becomes thin and dull and fall out in a diffuse manner all over the top of the head at first broadening the parting. In succession a true alopecia is observed and it ceases just about 1 cm away from the hairline.

    Other types of Hair loss

Non-hereditary hair loss occurs mostly in women and is predominately caused by hormonal disorders (pregnancy, menopause) by uncommonly stressful situations and overtiredness by “crazy” unhealthy diet or malnutrition (low vitamin, protein and trace mineral intake) by mechanical damage (repeated shampooing with “tough” shampoos, blow drying, excessive combing, hair bands) or chemical damage (hair coloring hair perms). Other factors that intensify the condition are the excessive sebum secretion, the intense dehydration of the scalp, UV radiation, pollution and environmental conditions (drought, wind). Finally there are cases of hair loss that are directly related to numerous conditions and the use of specific drugs. These cases are referred to as pathogenic hair loss and need the medical assist of a dermatologist.

Nutrition: Proper hair nourishment and invigoration

Your daily diet affects the healthy form and the quality of your hair. The every day intake of nutrients that are implicated in the appropriate growth of the hair is requirement that must be met through our regular diet.

One of the key factors of hair loss is a diet rich in fat. The combination of a diet low in fat and the intake of food rich in protein (lecithin, wheat germ oil, brewer’s yeast), amino acids that are involved in the formation of hair’s keratin, minerals and trace elements that are involved in the development of hair (silica, zinc).

    Hair loss natural treatment.

Generally, anxiety, stress and extreme exhaustion are all factors that affect good health of the hair and their growth. Keep in mind that a healthy life style, resting, a good night’s sleep, stress management and regular eating habits can indisputably contribute to healthy hair growth.

Aromatherapy is one of the natural therapies that can also be beneficial to hair wellness. Shampoos and solution with the appropriate essential oils are used to combat safely baldness and promote hair regrowing. They have antibacterial, tonic and antiseptic attributes and aid good condition of scalp. Thyme, Rosemary, Lavender, Jojoba and Cedarwood oil are considered by dermatologists as the most effective essential oils that can naturally treat hair loss and improve hair health.
number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

I would visit the doctor. He will be able to help you with what is going on and how to fix it. I would try taking a multi vitamin. That can help with the exhaustion.

    Hope this helps :)

What kind of hair loss is associated with a thyroid problem? Are there other symptoms?

Hair loss associated with thyroid problems most commonly are:

eyebrows - the outer corner of eyebrows tends to fall away leaving appearance of half an eye brow.

Hair breakage - hair falling out in clumps or breaking easily when brushed.

Taking good supplements as well as the thyroid meds can get your hair back strong again though.

What are the symptoms of a thyroid problem. Is it just hair loss only or other signs?

I am one of these sufferers of a thyroid disorder, called; Hypothyroidism. The doctor took four years to correctly diagnose me!

    Here are the symptoms for an over-active thyroid;

1: Putting on weight without eating any more, whilst having a healthy diet.

2: Feeling lethargic, no matter how much sleep you have had.

    3: Mood swings.

    4: Feeling cold.

    5: Hair loss!

Untreated, a multi-nodular goitre can form in the thyroid, but the eyes do not become prominent as with the over-active thyroid condition.

The patient will feel more lethargic as the time goes by, and might be unable to have the strength to get out of bed.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    If it is Hyperthyroidism, over-active thyroid;

1: Feeling hot even when the weather is cold.

2; Rushing about, not able to relax, tense.

    3: Palpitations.

4: Feeling irritable all the time.

    5: Unable to sleep.

If this condition is left untreated, the thyroid could swell, and so can the eyeballs, which is called; Goitre

A blood test can easily ascertain, which thyroid condition the patient has. Treatment is difficult to get the correct level of thyroid hormone needed in to regulate the body, but if you have a good specialist, called an; Endocrinologist it may take only 6 months to a year, depending on the severity of the case.

But, you will have to go back for regular three monthly blood tests to keep an eye on it. I found that if I had a weight gain, or managed to lose some weight, it affected the dosage I was on. So keep an eye on that too.

There many many symptoms of a thyroid problem - it depends on the problem. Doctors divide thyroid disease into hyperthyroidism (meaning hyper active) and hypothyroidism (meaning low activity) and each category has many many signs and symptoms.

Scary symptoms! Hair loss, Not a normal diet, etc. IMPORTANT?

Ok so im turning 20 this year. Nov. 09 i started having these horrible head aches. Sharp pin type of head aches. My whole head went numb sometimes. Other times only half of my head would hurt and then the next day it would shift to the other side. I would get hot fast and i would go back to normal. later on in the day i would be freezing. This lasted for 2 1/2 weeks straight. after that the head aches would show up once in a while.

Im always having body temperature changes. Hot, cold and so forth. My mood does change but its usually happy or very like aggravated. To the point i dont want to talk to anyone and just relax and be alone.

For the past like 4 months my hair has been falling and thinning out alot. I go through my head and i see small spots of bare skin.

I really dont know whats going on but people have said its stress. I sometimes jump into a conclusion that theres something wrong inside my head and no i dont mean crazy. I went to the doctor in late Dec. and they said everything looked ok.

Im also gaining weight and maybe not alot but its noticeable. Ive been eating alot lately and then theres days i only eat once. My appetite just goes haywire.

What do these hair loss symptoms sound like?

Ive noticed recently that ive lost some hair on my hairline, but not in the front but on the corners. I am 19 and i have been really stressed out lately (also anxiety that im working through). Im also big on fitness and every day i usually do several sets of over a hundred straight pushups and over 40 pullups in a row, squats all that. My diet is pretty good, i dont eat anything unhealthy, i take alot of creatine, protein, multivitamins whole grain and real meat. I saw the wrong kind of doctor today and all he basically told me was that it looked like something that could be caused from a traumatic event. (Since then have scheduled with a dermatologist) Mentally ive been going through alot, and also im not sure if working out to intensily could somehow be related. None of my family members say they have lost hair around my age. Im also not missing any hair on my scalp, but like i said just at the left and right side of my hairline. Any help at all is appreciated. What do these hair loss symptoms sound like?
Stress could most certainly be the cause. Are you losing it symmetrically on the right and left upper forehead? If you are that is consistent with male pattern baldness.

If you are working out a lot that could lead to an increase in your testosterone levels which can cause baldness (the hair loss drug Propecia works by reducing the testosterone level in the body).

Although no one in your family lost their hair at your age, if they still lost it eventually then you are likely to go bald. They age at which it occurs may not be the same though. One of my good friend in college had the balding pattern of a 40 year old, so anything is a possibility.

Most likely thought your dermatologist should be able to determine the cause. Good luck. The last thing you need is early baldness to add to your anxiety. What do these hair loss symptoms sound like?
    it probably is mentally-

you've heard the saying you make me want to pull my hair out, right?

    That's true... sort of.

When your going through alot (stressed) your hair become moderatly thinner, sometimes falling out.

    Just stay calm....

What are the first symptoms of Male Pattern Hair Loss?

Is they any stand out symptoms like oily scalp, or something? What are the first symptoms of Male Pattern Hair Loss?
The typical pattern of male baldness begins at the hairline. The hairline gradually recedes to form an ';M'; shape. The existing hair may become finer and shorter. The hair at the crown also begins to thin. Eventually the top of the hairline meets the thinned crown, leaving a horseshoe pattern of hair around the sides of the head.

Hair loss in patches, diffuse shedding of hair, breaking of hair shafts, or hair loss associated with redness, scaling, pain, or rapid progression could be caused by other conditions......jWhat are the first symptoms of Male Pattern Hair Loss?
Here are some sure signs of Male Pattern Baldness...

Male Pattern baldness refers to the way in which a man loses hair in a certain pattern when they have genetic hair loss. This balding occurs in patches and may eventually cause complete hair loss. The pattern the balding takes only occurs in men.

This balding may occur as early as the age 25 and always began by the time the man is 30. It is likely that a man with genetic hair loss will be completely bald by the age 60. This can seem devastating to a man but there are treatments available to prevent further balding.

Male Pattern Baldness begins with the receding and thinning of the hair line. This usually begins between the ages of 25 and 30. The thinning hair line is often ignored but should be taken much more seriously, as it is the first sign of male pattern baldness. By recognizing this first signs, a man may be able to receive treatment before the hair loss becomes too obvious.

Next, small patches of hair will begin to thin around the crown of the scalp. At this point the hair loss is becoming obvious and treatment should be considered a necessity if one wishes to keep their hair. Unfortunately, if ignored, the balding will get only continue to worsen.

These patches will continue to develop until the entire crown of the head is bald, leaving hair around only the edges. At this point it is too late for most treatments though hair restoration surgery or plugs may still be an option (if one has the money to replace all the hair that been lost).

Men with this type of baldness will try treatment of all forms. After all, the first stages of male pattern baldness happen to young men! Who doesn鈥檛 want to keep their hair? Because the baldness from male pattern balding is permanent, a long term solution is most viable.

Get the facts! If a young man recognizes the early signs of male pattern baldness, he can receive proper treatment before high hair loss becomes too noticeable. Men should talk with family doctors for advice.

I hope I've answered your question...
i suffer from severe male pattern hair loss and these are the symptoms i got :

    large nose

    grey skin

    hollow baggy eyes

    hunchback

    shrinking pinky finger

    excess hair growth

i also have reason to believe that it is caused by these things :

poor hygiene (for example if you stay in a bin)

malnutrition (for example if you live on muffins)

    ownage of a honda jazz

bouncing too high on your spcae shoes
    hair falling out.

there are different types of male pattern hair loss, some men like the bird next some like the airplane runway. but for all hair start falling out.

now a sign is to look at one's uncles (both sides), grandfathers; see how their hair if any patterned.
it,s when you lose your hair and none of it comes back in. then after awhile you will start to have bald spots. like me , i,am bald but i don,t let it worry me any.i pay more attention what,s going on inside my body then the outside.
